The coalition force for Operation Desert Storm completely demolished the retreating Republican Guard on the highway back to Iraq, that it was called "Highway of Death" - 50 to 60 miles of bombed out vehicles and incinerated soldiers. And yet today, the U.S. has made not one bombing run on the alleged stream of tankers smuggling oil.
That right there tells you all you need to know.

" . . . a labyrinthine oil-smuggling operation that starts at seized Syrian oil fields, goes through makeshift refineries and can end up in jerrycans carried by mules into the hilly borderland of Turkey"
John Koenig

It is a little disingenuous to only emphasise part of the quote'?“can end up in jerrycans carried by mules” I wonder why?

So the oil starts at the oil field, is refined but if it ends up in jerrycans then this is not part of the smuggling operation?

You said:
"It does not say it is being smuggled by mules."

You need to read the quote again:

"Oil-smuggling operation that starts at seized Syrian oil fields, goes through makeshift refineries and end up in jerrycans carried by mules into the hilly borderland of Turkey"

See, right there. The mules ARE being used to smuggle the oil from Syria into Turkey.

First of all, you're putting your own spin on a story just like the mainstream media does. Case and point, the last source you used says, "can end up in jerrycans carried by mules". It does not say it is being smuggled by mules. If you know a bit about how things work over there, you'd understand that many of the mountain people who are away from civilization use mules to go to town and purchase gasoline, diesel and kerosene to use on their homesteads for things like farming equipment and generators. Also, it would cost them way too much to simply drive the vehicle to town because of the fuel that it would use.

Here's the problem. Everybody wants to know everything right away, as soon as it happens, so they don't feel like they are in the dark. It's crap. Agreeable, the current administration is wrought with bad decisions and policies encouraged by the current leader. However, as a super-military organization, some things are best left unsaid until that information is no longer of use to our soldiers. Think about it, if you want to catch a guy who's been stealing jewelry from a local WalMart and someone calls in a tip on who it is, would you want that on the news so everyone else knows too? Wouldn't it be better to NOT alert the thief that you were on to him and catch him first before putting it out on the media?

We may not be talking about something as trivial as a thief at a local store, but the principle is the same. And the mainstream media today simply falls off the deep end and quite literally makes up their own stories through the use of so-called "professionals". It's a freaking joke all done in the name of ratings. How about the media take a step back and report on what actually happens instead of trying to be a judge and jury before action can be taken. Maybe then people such as yourself can actually write on facts and we would all be better for it.
