DPR spokesperson: Armed conflict escalates among Kiev’s forces

Confrontation among the units of the Ukrainian armed forces has resulted in an armed conflict, the DPR Defense spokesperson Eduard Basurin stated today.

“We’ve registered cases of the escalation of the confrontation not only between the Ukrainian regular army’s units and volunteer battalions, but also among the units of the Ukrainian armed forces,” – Eduard Basurin said.

On Friday, the reports came that the Ukrainian 93rd separate mechanized brigade had demanded from the “Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists” battalion to abandon their positions in the area of Peski. The “OUN” battalion is not controlled by the Kiev authorities.

“Today, on the 11th of April, Ukrainian regular army’s units got involved in the armed conflict. I’d like to draw your attention to the facts that when Ukrainian units open fire on one another, the Kiev authorities report it as the ceasefire violation by the DPR militia. What is more, the Ukrainian authorities systematically report to the OSCE and Kiev’s controlled media,” – Eduard Basurin stressed.

On the 1st of April, the DPR Defense Ministry reported that the Ukrainian soldiers of the “Donbass” battalion had opened fire on the positions of the “Right Sector”. According to the representatives of the DPR militia, Ukrainian units, which don’t want to obey the commands of the Ukrainian armed forces, “reserve the right not to abide by the ceasefire regime”.
