Russia Warns Obama Of “Unpredictable Consequences”

by Tyler Durden

On Tuesday, Defense Secretary Ash Carter told the Senate Armed Services Committee that the US would no longer hesitate to engage in “direct action on the ground” in Iraq and Syria.

The change in rhetoric (and apparent shift in strategy) comes just days after the US seemingly prepared the public for what might be coming by releasing helmet cam footage of what Washington says was a raid on an ISIS prison by Delta Force (accompanied by the Peshmerga). 70 prisoners were allegedly freed although not before the US suffered its first combat death in Iraq since 2011.

The timing of the video is suspect, to say the least. It came just days after Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Joe Dunford visited Iraqi PM Haider al-Abadi in an effort to dissuade Baghdad from requesting Russian airstrikes on ISIS targets. In short, it appears as though Washington is trying to simultaneously,  i) prove to Mid-East governments that the US can still be effective in the fight against terrorism even as questions remain about ulterior motives and even as Russia racks up gains in Syria, ii) prepare the public for the possibility that America is about to put boots on the ground in Iraq and Syria.

Russia, Iran and China are just more than enough to maintain peace in the middle east and probably the whole of Asia, US is only known for looking trouble. this is what many have not realised, but they will get it right time to come and regret their actions.

Reblogged this on wgrovedotnet and commented:

So the US has declared war on Iraq it would seem. Deploying troops on foreign soil when the government of that country has rejected said boots on the ground is an act of agression. Washington intends to put US troops deliberately in harms way knowing full well that some of them will be killed in the Russian Air Strikes, just so they have an excuse to engage Russian fighter jets. How effing sad is that? Such contempt for the lives of their own army personnel is both tragic and disgusting. When did IS declare war on the US? Why haven’t IS killed US citizens in America? Who is Islamic State and who pays their bills? The answers to the third and fourth questions does not require a giant leap of logic, since the answer was in the first and second question. The US jets flew over columns of Black Flag waving military convoys but did not fire on them as per witnesses on the ground. Not just once or twice, but repeatedly, even though the Black Flag was clearly visible, unfortunately the witnesses probably do not have access to the internet and are relying on word to the independent journalists and western propaganda media don’t pay for, or report, inconvenient truths.

Boots in Iraq and Syria? They already have them but Washington plans to send more. Be careful now, Powerful Russia is not going to let you guys mess up another country. Thanks to Iran, Russia, Syrian Army, Iraq army and Hezbollah and may be China, things are going to change for the good of humanity.

They already have boots on the ground. Who the heck is running that massive well-oiled military machine.. IS, surely not Sudanese or Chechen terrrs. It’s all bluster. If you saw the session you’d have noticed how Carter and the Gen. they squirmed under Q.. as they knew their imbeds were getting vaporized. Graham seemed not to know and they couldn’t tell him!

Rescue. Why would they raid IS if IS are their boys. Surely just pick up the phone. Smells bad..
