The US empire was doomed at the point they started gave away the productive capacity of their economy. Only a bunch of half enlightened half-wits would do that. Not only that this created a new superpower in China. The endless and stupid wars as to the ineptitude as they robbed the American people of trillions of Dollars and accelerated the decline. Now they are in a bind. They want to fight the Russians and arrogantly assume they would win but can’t as the Russians would obliterate them the Russians have bigger nukes.

The most important video I have ever seen.

Bush Military Official: The Empire’s Ship is Sinking // Empire_File013

Abby Martin interviews retired U.S. Army Colonel Lawrence Wilkerson, former national security advisor to the Reagan administration, who spent years as an assistant to Secretary of State Colin Powell during both Bush administrations. Today, he is honest about the unfixable corruption inside the establishment and the corporate interests driving foreign policy.

Hear a rare insider’s view of what interests are behind U.S. wars, the manipulation of intelligence, the intertwining of the military and corporate world, and why the U.S. Empire is doomed.

Indeed, very interesting interview. Comment on Wilkerson’s closing line, I have noticed an upturn of late in “calls to action” in alt media against the institutions of empire. Understandably, these tend to be implicit rather than explicit, but potentially cover an enormous range of actions from emailing the local paper or an MP right through to commando actions. It seems to me that the recent hostile media attention on a group as benign and well intentioned as Stop The War Coalition suggest a harsh response to any more direct action. Does anyone know if membership/supporter numbers of STWC have increased of late?
On a personal level, I tend to keep my “direct actions” to occasional rants to workmates on the machinations of the Evil Empire, and respect for those nations confronting it. Responses tend to be of ignorance and embarrassment, though I have been dubbed “Putin’s troll, which I’m quite pleased with.
