Bayer CEO: ‘We don’t make medicine for poor Indians’

by Nikolai Brown, for Anti-Imperialism

I think I’m correct in saying that Bayer is an associate of IG Farben: the same IG Farben whose labour and product was used in the Holocaust…so it’s nice to see they haven’t strayed too far from their past.

During World War II, IG Farben used slave labor in factories that it built adjacent to German concentration camps, notably Auschwitz, and the sub-camps of the Mauthausen-Gusen concentration camp. IG Farben purchased prisoners for human experimentation of a sleep-inducing drug and later reported that all test subjects died. IG Farben held a large investment in Degesch which produced Zyclon B used to gas and kill prisoners during the Holocaust. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bayer

In a crass yet frank admission, Bayer CEO Marijn Dekkers said the company’s new cancer drug, Nexavar, is not “for Indians,” but “for western patients who can afford it.” The statement came in the wake of a recent ruling by an Indian court that certain life-saving drugs could be produced and distributed at 97% of the brand-name price.
While Dekkers’ earnest admission is contemptible on a certain level, the ideological defense mounted by bourgeois media and others reveals a deeper level of truth:

Of course we want to make sure people have access to life-saving drugs,’ sycophants and beneficiaries of capitalism emphatically explain, ‘yet widespread violations of intellectual property rights erases the incentive to invest incredible resources into developing these drugs in the first place… Eventually, everyone [who is still alive] will benefit from adhering to the exclusive rights of intellectual property.

Such apologism for Bayer unwittingly implicates the wider system: ‘in order to produce life-saving drugs, we need to restrict access via pricing measures, dooming many to unnecessary suffering and death, so that we can make a profit and do it again.’ Of course, ‘everyone’ will ‘eventually’ receive hypothetical benefits over the long-run.
What will they promise next? Flying cars and elixirs to restore youth?

Bayer’s sordid history and the cancer industrial complex

Bayer was founded in 1863 in Barmen, Germany. In 1899, it trademarked aspirin. The previous year, it trademarked heroin and marketed it as a children’s cough medicine “without side-effects.”
During World War I, the company turned its attention toward the manufacturing of chemical weapons and even founded a “School for Chemical Warfare.”
Following the war Bayer joined with other chemical manufacturing firms to form Farben, the largest company in Germany at the time and the largest contributor to Hitler’s election campaign.
During the Second World War, Farben used slave labor in many of it factories and mines. Working with the Nazi regime, Farben owned the patent to Zyklon B, the cyanide-based gas used to murder over a million people in concentration camps throughout occupied Europe, which it produced without any odorant. In 1946, the Nuremburg Tribunal concluded that without Farben, WWII would not have been possible.
Only 13 of the 24 Farben board members indicted on crimes against humanity were sentenced to prison, and those who did received sentences which were, in the words of the prosecutors, “light enough to please a chicken thief.” Additionally, many of the Nazi-supporting executives and managers returned to the “new” companies that Farben’s assets were divided into in 1952.
Today, Bayer is a huge conglomerate with three primary divisions: Bayer HealthCare, which makes drugs and medical equipment; Bayer MaterialScience, which produces polymers and plastics; and Bayer CropScience, which produces pairings of GM crops and agricultural chemicals. Essentially, Bayer is three large companies, two of which produce or use materials which cause medical conditions like cancer, one which produces cures for medical conditions like cancer – but only for people who can can afford it.

The political economy of intellectual property

India is not the only country attempting to produce generic versions of patented drugs at a significantly lower cost. South Africa recently caused a row after a similar court ruling allowing for the low-cost local manufacturing and distribution of internationally-patented drugs. In both cases, western capital has threatened punitive actions and even more restricted access to new drugs in the future.
The controversy of local manufacturing of drugs highlights some of the contours of global contradictions. In this case, the bourgeoisie of a small handful of ascendant Third World countries are feeling more at liberty to challenge the economic hegemony of trilateral imperialism. Western imperialism, for its part, is feeling evermore threatened and determined to maintain its hegemony.
Economically speaking, patents and intellectual property is a type of monopoly capital. When joined with other forms of finance capital, i.e., insurance companies which typically pay the bulk of expensive treatments for those privileged enough to be covered, such monopoly capital allows for the circulation and concentration of capital in the core at the expense of the periphery. Hence, not only do intellectual property rights necessarily restrict access to life-saving medicine for those who cannot afford it, they are part of a system which creates the very conditions whereby the world’s masses are typically poor in the first place.

You can’t patent a solution

It is clear that a real solution to global health will not found within the modern capitalist-imperialist system. After all, under capitalism if pharmaceutical companies can not restrict access to their drugs to secure a profit, they have no purpose to exist and would actually fail as a company. The very business model of the drug companies is predicated within a larger system in which a majority of people will not be able to afford their products or services.
A real solution must be sought through a new governing economic principle: democratically and rationally producing and distributing the satisfaction of wants and needs. Such an economic system can only be instituted through revolution: the overthrow of capital-imperialist productive and social relations – intellectual property rights and all – and the economic and political ascendancy of the world’s exploited and oppressed masses.

I’m afraid what you are saying is that the only people allowed to be the best at what they do must be self-less socialist saints.
You expect people to push themselves to the limit to be the first in the world to discover something, develop something, but they should be accorded the same worth as the lazy folks who demand things without having put in the hard work necessary to earn it.
It’s a viewpoint, but the problem is that the risk-reward ratio for the hardworking innovators is far, far worse than for the lazy spongers.
There are huge imperfections in any system you wish to have.
Unfortunately, you may find that your solution will ensure that even fewer will have access to life saving medicines because far fewer of them will have been invented.
That’s the conundrum of the socialist-capitalist dogma war…….

You are assuming that the likes of Bayer should be allowed to charge whatever they like for the drugs they sell because they reinvest their profits in research and development. That is quite a huge assumption to make.
Isn’t it possible that most medicines and drugs are actually quite cheap to make and most of the profits pharmaceutical companies make go towards fattening the salary packages of senior executives or into dividends and bonuses paid out to individual and corporate shareholders, instead of being put back into the core business of producing drugs? Is it also possible that those actually engaged in R&D are quite poorly paid compared to their bosses in these firms, or are employed on contract and thus easily expendable once their work as researchers and innovators is done?
The point of the article is that Western pharmaceutical firms are abusing and exploiting intellectual property rights in order to extract excess profits from medicines that actually might have been cheap to research and develop, and then to market, distribute and sell. In doing this, these firms are putting lives – especially the lives of children, disabled people and elderly people (whom you label “lazy spongers”) – at risk. This is an enormous waste of human potential.
But I suppose the aim of the article goes above the heads of trolls deliberately determined to confuse people with idiotic talk about socialist-capitalist dogma.

“Is it also possible that those actually engaged in R&D are quite poorly paid compared to their bosses in these firms,”
Pharmaceutical companies who justify high prices for their goods because they spend so much on R&D, fail to admit that these R&D costs are tax deductable anyway, so they already get a tax benefit from their R&D expenditure. It’s just more PR bullsh!t from fat, bloated CEO’s.

I read your mind as captured – that is – you actually believe what you are saying. Yes it’s a view. Have a look at “Cancer is a serious business” free online – and get a glimpse into the cartel of corporate and State via regulatory capture. This story exists to be told because the discoverer and holder of the patents held true to treating patients – regardless the extremity of the apparatus of state thrown at him.
If you wont – then the salient part to my point is that when FDA etc couldn’t shut him down, (everything was running legally), they tried to pass of identical patents whilst repeatedly and repeatedly trying to imprison him – using humongous legal obfuscation. they failed – but they have not stopped trying to shut him down. You are naive to believe what you are told. there’s a Racket and it goes further than a little mind can bear to see.
As for lazy people demanding what they don’t deserve, – where exactly does that fit in? I find it to be lazy thinking…

In times where those who believe their lies with sincerity have all the power, it is kind of refreshing to hear from the mouth of a pharma CEO that Bayer does not make drugs for poor people*.
Actually, I believe that Bayer also doesn’t make drugs for the rich or the sick. Here is an interesting story about the bloodthinner drug xarelto, a blockbuster drug for Bayer which brings in 2 billion USD yearly. And all it seems to be capable of is killing a couple of more people than the old bloodthinner (and literally rat poison) warfarin did.
You can read all about it here: https://www.drugwatch.com/2016/03/09/lawyers-accuse-jj-bayer-withholding-xarelto-study-data/
Of course, the first law trials that are ‘needed’** to proof that xarelto is a hazardous drug (possibly more hazardous than the old drug, warfarin which is sold by millions to poor Indians, because it’s cheap and effective) are scheduled in the far future (February 2017). And this time delay in knowing the truth about all this doesn’t, of course, make the company stop from making and selling xarelto to patients and doctors who are blessfully unaware that this drug is as at least as effective as rat poison to rats is who also ingest warfarin in unknown quantities (which is the actual result from the rocket-AF trial).
You do not have to believe me as I am only acting as a commenter here (and not as your doctor, an expert or a judge), but I would consider it wise that if you are in need of anticoagulant treatment and your doctor wants to prescribe you xarelto (or me too drugs like pradaxa, eliquis or lixiana), that you ask him or her “if she knows that the effectiveness of this drug was compared with warfarin in the Rocket-AF trial in uncontrolled dosages, which is kind of a similar as how you kill rats.” That is a proven, yet not very much known, fact.
Last but not least: guess who was the main responsible medical doctor in the rocket-AF trial? – It is Robert Califf, who apparantly did such a good job for the pharma-industry that he is now promoted by Obama himself as the new head of the FDA, i.e. the US governmental institution that is guarding the safety of drugs for the US market.
According to the Wikipedia webpage of former Bayer CEO Marijn Dekkers, he regrets to have made abovementioned statement in 2014 at a pharmaconference.
** Needed is between brackets, because what you would really need to know to find the truth is not a judge but open access to all trial data from the pharma company that can be scrutinized by independent scientists as for example Ben Goldacre (read Bad Pharma) and Ian Chalmers (from the cochcrane library) advocate.

Holohoax? It would have taken 37 years to cremate 6M with available facilities. Slave labour.. correct. Max Planck scientist, Rudolph Germa confirmed gas was enough to delouse. He got 5 years in jail for that. Me an anti semite. No, just an awakened Hungarian Jew who lost many to typhus and malnutrition. Int. Red Cross records kept in Germany confirm approx. 253K died.

This article prompted me to offer
http://www4.dr-rath-foundation.org/uk/
There is much information via the above link around the pseudo-scientific thinking that provides the corporate mask of technocracy over the power-politic which runs the ‘back end’ of whatever flavour of political face. (
Patents are a part of the story – but the suppression of natural medicine via regulatory and educational disinfo is another.
The use of ‘medical science’ as tool of political power is so pervasive as to be invisible to those who grew up in its framing. The subversion and corruption of any ‘church’ to serve a ‘state’ of dictated conformity is the denial of any alternate perspective in broad spectrum dominance.
The technological and I might add bio-technological penetration of such agenda into and upon our lives is without precedent in consensus history.
The political development of cartels forming through the oil, plastics and pharmaceutical industries, allied with (central) private banking as the control of money supply and therefore fiscal policy has operated a collectivism under the aegis of a scientism of evolutionary progress coupled with controlled release of technologies by which to induce dependency upon a managed and engineered society. And indeed to voluntarily degrade, divert and diminish Consciousness so as not to know the difference.
Sickness management is the basis of the ‘NWO’ – as they legally define ‘health’ in terms of external intervention – as if exercising scientific authority, and allow effective monopoly to a destructo-capitalism let loose upon our biology.
While patent infringement may be contested and protested against in public – beneath the facade is the propagation of the model to nurture mind-share – because underneath the appearance of market share is mind-control or capture.
“You are a guilt-ridden sinner deserving heel – but we can offer salvation – at a price we set.”
“You are a weak, fragile and latently sick or soon to be afflicted body and brain – but we can offer limited and temporary power and protection to keep sickness at bay, mask or hide the symptoms, and manage the breakdown into side effects and negative synergies of further breakdown so as to save you from any sense of awakened responsibility for your consciousness, your life-choices and your creative capacity. All sin-free – unless of course you challenge or question The State, the Medical Establishment, and the Pharma’s right to freedom from all but token transparency and accountability. Factory farmed human anyone?
Monopolizing the outsourcing of guilt, dissonance or sin-sense of self-conflict and self-alienation is not power, so much as the result of self-hating invalidation.
Whatever words, forms or faces we use, we do not escape our foundations even if it passes off as real to others who feel they get something out of aligning or agreeing in it. If we are conflicted in our self we are demonstrating, teaching or propagating conflict – even if the face is kind and helpful and well intentioned. Even if the face is very clever and redefines conflict as natural, and wholeness and health as freak aberrations or heresy to offer to the weak and gullible.
How we define ourself (in any situation) sets our foundation. All else follows automatically as our experience – but we can recognize the active choice and thus awaken as the capacity to accept a true or more integrated and less conflicted experience as a result of a shift in perspective.

deserving heel was meant to read ‘deserving hell’ – but actually ‘deserving heel’ provides a fresh perspective on the meaning that ‘hell’ loses to arguments about whether hell is real – that cannot resolve because the use of the symbol varies to mean very different things to different people.
Because something can be experienced, suffered and hated – does not mean that its inherent nature or condition is hateful, but it may be reflecting hate of which we are unaware or un-conscious simply because we are self-certainly ‘right’ or self-righteously certain. Those who set up scams are aware of their device but many who then take the bait because the militant defenders of the scam against exposure because they want and need to believe it true -or their world-view is broken and conflicted identity un-lidded.

What exactly is Thomas saying? And is it Holocaust denial?
It seems to me that he is saying here, that by no means all of the millions of Jews killed in the Holocaust were killed in ovens by Xylon B.
Is it argued that this is not the case?
I raise the matter reluctantly in the knowledge that this is not a subject which produces much in the way of light and that anti-semites and other neo-nazis have views which are intended to exonerate the Nazis. I regard the Holocaust as a monstrous crime which arose directly from imperialism (not medieval theology) and followed logically from five centuries of genocides.
It is because the even was one of cardinal importance that it must be described accurately rather than left in the hands of mythologists whether anti-semitic or otherwise motivated.
That being the case I believe that it is well established that of the many millions of victims selected on racial, religious, cultural, medical and political criteria only a minority were killed in the gas chambers before being cremated.
If Thomas T is merely saying this then I think it is mistaken to accuse him of ‘denial. But I am ready to accept contradiction, not being a scholar of the subject.

Freedom of speech is not freedom to incite hatred without meeting correction and limitation or withdrawal of support. There is a difference between mistakes, genuine differences of opinion, and hate agenda – but anyone here should be well aware that deceits can be set in all manner of trolling and disinfo. But also any institutional identity tends to avoid having its dirty washing made public – and so those with the power to do so, make sure that such revisions as are conceded are quietly effected in the background – so as not to give ‘ammunition’ to the Evil and Fearful ‘Enemy’.
But worship and protection of hatred is enshrined in negative fixations that established an assertion of justified and immutable self righteous hate – as a narrative identity unwilling to accept any revision as a result of uncovering information that reveals events in a different light.
History is ‘revisionism’ excepting where it is operating as a sacred scripture. Ancient fears and enmities lurk beneath a veneer of largely imposed civilisation. Many who lived together in peace can be triggered into fear and violence such as Serb and Croat
If the Holocaust is the single most horrific imprint in the Western European psyche – which it may be. The use to which that is put as a terror and guilt symbol has and does have an emasculating effect on our imagination and expression.
While I respect that this is not a site for ‘Holocaust denial’ – I don’t see how off-Guardian (and its readership commenting) can deconstruct and reveal the narrative devices and distortions of corporate elitism, and yet prohibit the conversation when it addresses some of the pivotal events of a WW2 that resulted in a NWO that is still ongoing as a corporately effected project using different faces to achieve the same ends.
I suggest that it was an incitement to critical comment to use the Wikipedia quote – although the gist of it is true: IG Farben and other multi-nationals supported WW2 and set up massive slave labour camps, and carried out inhuman experimentation upon many without a voice. (And this practice still goes on. Operation Paperclip protected many scientists who worked within the Nazi regime from due process of law and assimilated them into the USA. The power class does not deal in moral scruple – except as a face to present in public when it suits them.
I realize that some issues cannot be openly talked about. Man’s inhumanity to Man is a horror story through the ages – still going on. The mass production of deprivation, sickness and death is alive and well and not located exclusively circa WW2. It is hidden in plain sight and most of the population are hardly aware of it.
The NWO is transforming Planet Earth to function as a slave labour camp – often with a much subtler programming but not always. It isn’t really ‘new’. That’s just part of its spin.

Dear Bevin,
There is a lot of misunderstanding about the Holocaust, and much of that misunderstanding has been exploited by Holocaust deniers and their friends and allies, and by the Israeli government and its friends and allies.
The best estimates of the numbers killed at Auschwitz-Birkenau where Zyklon-B was used (and it was used only in that camp complex, not in others) are 1.1 million of whom about 960,000 were Jewish.
https://www.ushmm.org/wlc/en/article.php?ModuleId=10005189
Other death camps (like Chelmno, Sobibor and Treblinka, located near Warsaw, for example) where Jews were gassed used carbon monoxide. The Nazis also used mobile gas vans in which exhaust fumes from the motors of the trucks used to transport victims were pumped into the compartments where victims were already crowded.
https://www.warhistoryonline.com/world-war-ii/the-horrific-nazi-gas-vans-the-mobile-gas-chambers.html
This is on top of mass shootings and other killings carried out by the Nazis and their subordinates in other parts of eastern Europe. One of the worst such massacres occurred at Babi Yar in Kiev in the early 1940s.
So when people suggest that the Shoah could not have happened , on the basis that it would be impossible to cremate 6 million killed in the one camp in a few years, you know you’re being assailed by either ignorance or deliberate misinformation and falsification of history.

One of the purposes to which ‘the Holocaust’ is put is the project to exonerate Israel of its present-day crimes. For this project to work the Nazi crimes of extermination inflicted on Soviet civilians, Soviet POWs, Roma, gays, Jehovahs’ Witnesses, German Leftists and Jews, are reduced, for propaganda purposes, to the genocide of Jews only. Then, this now ethnically cleansed horror, was turned into a de facto State religion in the West, in societies like the UK, France, Belgium and the USA, where massive genocides of Indians, African, Congolese and the indigenous throughout the New World, are almost totally ignored and unremembered (or, as in the case of Japan’s genocide in China, or Turkey’s genocides after 1915, actively and stridently denied). There has been deliberately created a hierarchy of victims where the Jews receive 99% of Western interest and sympathy, and the hundreds of millions of others, the residual 1%. It neatly follows the global economic maldistribution, too, not accidentally.

Discerning the purpose to which something is put, is free from being entrapped in the entanglements of engaging in terms of the framing of the content.
I notice a very subtle mind-trap by which communication is prohibited and penalised – that is the means and power to enact penalty are feared.
Such is an assertion of power over minds – that it cannot even be truly identified because it operates our identity.
Without anti-Semitism, the Jewish Identity would and does assimilate. And so the fear of everyone ELSE suddenly hating and killing you and your family is embedded in Jewish Identity by its power class – that can thus draw on its support or at least its reluctance to more than token criticism.
The ones who work power through deceits – in any guise – Use hatred as power in asserted self-righteousness – and propagate such a mentality within the direction and protection of service, obedience and sacrifice.
The sacrifice of truth for power is the elitist ‘religion’ – and I mean elite in terms of supremacist, not excellence. Therefore they enjoy the term ‘elites’ as it confers validation to their sense of being BETTER than and superior to the inferior who personify ‘lack of worth’ of an undeserving humanity of anything but under-serving those assigned to rule over them.
Meeting this written out sounds like insanity, but when was the last time you stood in judgement over another from a presumed superiority – or sought secretly to gain from their loss? Or the last time you ruled your mind with cold indifference to the feelings you associate with weakness and loss of power?
The ‘lie and the father of the lie’ are one in purpose of hatred and denial of truth – and so the attack, usurpation and fragmentation of truth to war by terror. I say this is the basis of our human identity – as a conditioning from which we are almost exclusively turned to look away. For we hate hatred – excepting we give it a backstage pass to operate through us in self righteous vindication – and for that – ‘our wound is sacred and as a jealous god – for from it comes power of a different order than the creation we take as our footstool’.
How else would the human mind dissociate its context and attack it than to make in its own image and mask as both life and the attack against it? The power of immunity to self-hatred is hatred of others, of world and of Life. Never pausing to look within and see a call for healing because only vengeance can be defined ‘healing’.
If insanity rules our world – and our perceptions and experience of it – then what is Sanity but such recognition? However, to sacrifice the glimpse to the mind of blame and hate and denial, is to have but fluttered open a moment before returning to dreams of power amidst powerlessness.
The linkage between our thinking – at its deeper levels of self-definition and belief – and our experience and consequent identity is kept hidden my materialism – that WANTS no Source or Author but itself amidst a world to exploit and conform to its will.
In all of this power talk – is the idea that we have it in and of ourselves – or would if not denied by THEM from whom we will take what is rightfully ours… in good time. But my growing recognition is that this definition of power corrupts, hollows out and uses us – not unlike a parasitic influence working against our life-force – but either we like the ride – or cannot get off.
Power addiction denies recognition of true worth in another. is this then power? Or is it the denial choice by which pain to awaken the need and desire for true? the apple of the Tree of Life is not denied or hidden – excepting by choosing to live out from the fruits of the judgement of good and evil – in which true and false are lost to identity in power struggle that has distorted and blocked the Inheritance of Being and so is the power to destroy that holds its world captive. Or does it? Identified in struggle or recognizing self in each other in true relation. Notice how sickening is the idea of love to a mind rooted in hidden hate.
Perhaps the ‘chosen ones’ are those who carry the reflection and reminder of a choice we forgot we made and hid. For only a choice you know you are making, can be changed. All the struggle and deceits cannot change a choice but simply add layers and layers of denial and defence – ad nauseum.

Hi Vaska,
What happened to European Jewry in Europe at the hands of the Nazis is more or less what is happening now to the Palestinians at the hands of the Zionists.
There most certainly was genocide — ethnic cleansing and mass murder aiming at the eradication of European Jews, although the target, though primary, was not exclusively that of European Jewry, and concentration camps overseen by the Nazi war machine were certainly a means to that end.
As to the manner in which the butchery was actually executed and in what numbers, that is for people expert in archival and forensic research to determine.
The ‘holocaust’ took place under conditions of all-out war, and as with all wars, the recounting of events, the official narrative of what ‘happened,’ although a reflection of that reality, is likely also to be a distortion of that reality, due to inevitable bias of that narrative, on account of its function as the propaganda of the victors, an exercise that undeniably continues to this day.
The story, therefore, in its official recounting, as with so many other ‘official recountings,’ may contain inaccuracies. This is not by any stretch to argue for an exculpation of the monstrosity that Nazism most certainly was. It is merely an acknowledgement that an historical interest in wanting to separate ‘fact’ from ‘fiction’ is not necessarily the manifestation of a desire to absolve anyone of war crimes; because some historians and forensic experts might want to assess the ‘evidence’ presumed to underlie the story of the ‘holocaust,’ it doesn’t necessarily mean they are deniers of anything.
It may simply be that they have been fed so much bullshit on so many things that they have come to see through, that they have developed a healthy skepticism of all establishment approved narratives and that they would rather verify for themselves the purported ‘evidence’ for the stated crimes than merely take someone at their word that the evidence exists and proves the crimes, especially if that someone has a vested interest in the narrative as promulgated by the powers that be.
If the ‘holocaust’ really did happen in the way that we are told it happened, then as with “9/11” or the Rwandan “genocide” of 1994, the available and existing evidence on which the ‘official history’ presumably rests should unproblematically substantiate the story – or not.
Researchers and academics, therefore, should have unrestricted access to the primary evidence and the right to publicly argue its merits and demerits.
As things stand, such researchers tend to be dismissed out of hand as “Holocaust deniers” and Nazis apologists, kind of in the same way that anyone wanting to critique the State of Israel is automatically branded an anti-Semite. I have read some of the work of Germar Rudolf, and though I may be mistaken, he does not strike me as someone peddling lies with the intent of exonerating Nazis.

Norman Pilon. Very eloquent. I wish I had said that.
If “The Holocaust” actually happened,(and I personally have no idea whether it did, or it didn’t), wouldn’t it be a great idea, if Israel showed some compassion towards the Palestinians, rather than treating them like ‘Concentration camp’ victims?
For all the great things that Jews have achieved in this world, here is their chance to show compassion towards the Palestinian citizens of Israel, who are on their knees, while “The World’s policeman” turns a blind eye to their suffering…………….

If communication were possible, ideas could be shared and better ways of living together could be found. But if you want to live apart – don’t allow this to occur – or subvert and infiltrate it to make it a token opposition.
‘blockquote’ On 7/7/14 Shaked wrote on her Facebook page:
Israeli MP Ayelet Shaked
“They have to die and their houses should be demolished so that they cannot bear any more terrorists,” Shaked said, adding, “They are all our enemies and their blood should be on our hands. This also applies to the mothers of every dead terrorist we eliminate.”
“Behind every terrorist stands dozens of men and women, without whom he could not engage in terrorism. They are all enemy combatants, and their blood shall be on all their heads. Now this also includes the mothers of the martyrs, who send them to hell with flowers and kisses. They should follow their sons, nothing would be more just. They should go, as should the physical homes in which they raised the snakes. Otherwise, more little snakes will be raised there.”
‘blockquote’
While this is only the voice of one Israeli politician, it is not without popular support in its sentiment. Does she mean what she says – or is it the deliberate provocation of anti-semitism from a belief in untouchability? For the master race idea is implicit in differentiating from ‘snakes’ deserving death.
What I see is the assertion and projection of self-denial out and away from any pretence at communication, as the means to imprint hate and terror symbols that then incriminate and vilify anyone speaking against. If anyone NOT under protection of such power acts thus, they have none and are given none.
This is useful to see in our stuffed shirt politicians. They reveal the mind they operate as in what they attempt to stamp onto others.
The outward result of war on terror/drugs/cancer/crime is its proliferation amidst capture of sympathy alignment. But the inner result is a complete lack of accountability. A blind disregard for consequence – excepting to persist in exceptionalism and self-specialness as The Regulatory Protector. Insanity.

I agree: you would think that people recognizing the crime and monstrosity of what was done to them on the basis of their collective identity, having as it were ‘experienced’ the horror, would themselves refrain from inflicting the same horror on anyone else and for similar reasons, namely, a presumed ‘superiority,’ rather than to use that memory as a ‘justification’ for committing an equivalent crime.
Apparently humans are capable of absolutely anything, living out their entire lives, as they do, deeply submerged in ideological and moral contradictions ( — a condition perhaps symptomatic of widespread and endemic cultural, economic and demographic decay, or in other words, symptomatic of the dislocations of ‘capital’).
To echo Brecht: surely we live in the dark ages still, a guileless world still being an absurdity.

There are dozens if not hundreds of Nazi-exonerating, anti-Semitic Internet sites, often created by Muslims, that are pushing that story.
However, the Red Cross document in question has been deliberately misrepresented by Holocaust deniers. The figure of 270,000 relates only to Germans and German Jews only. It is not the ‘total death toll across World War 2 concentration camps’. What’s more it refers only to figures found by the International Tracing Service of the Red Cross in documents at concentration camps at the end of WW2.

Thanks for that. I have no idea what happened in WWII because I wasn’t born yet. But just as “the document in question has been deliberately misrepresented by Holocaust deniers” maybe the guy on Quora(who describes himself as an “Qualified amateur historian”?) has got his story wrong as well. Who knows what the truth is?
The problem is, no one is allowed to even discuss the Holocaust, let alone dispute it, without being branded as ‘Anti Semitic”

Are you accusing ‘Muslims’ of being behind Holocaust denial? Looks awfully Islamophobic to me.

Anti-Islamic is perfectly ok in this world. Just have a look at the Western Media, ie, the 9/11 attack on the USA was carried out by 15 Arabs using box cutters to defeat the entire American air defence system(at exactly the same time that NORAD was shut down for an hour) while the American President was reading a book about his pet goat. It’s a true story, apparently.

ThomasT’s comment demonstrates the level of sheer ignorance common to many, not just Holocaust deniers but even also among those who accept that the Shoah occurred.
The Nazis, their allies and subject populations in eastern Europe killed at least as many other people as they did Jews. The fact also that many camp prisoners died from typhus and malnutrition itself condemns the Nazis because disease and starvation are also weapons of genocide.
The camps where Jewish and other people perished were located in remote parts of Poland near railway terminus points, deliberately so as to prevent Germans from knowing of their existence. Auschwitz-Birkenau was a typical example. Therefore German records of people killed by Nazi Germany are going to be minor details in the broad discussion of the Shoah.
