Independents And Jill Stein Won The Democratic National Convention

by Rob Cotton, via Twist the Knife

The Democratic National Convention, being little more than a dismal, choreographed vision into the bleak abyss of our Neoliberal future, will be remembered as a footnote to the real convention that took place on the streets, on the Internet, and in the homes, apartments, restaurants, bars, and other various meeting places in our nation: the convention to defy to the conventional ‘wisdom’ of the Democratic Party elite and forge a new and better path for ourselves.
When Bernie Sanders delegates started chanting “no more wars” at the Democratic National Convention, party loyalists drowned them out with a counter-chant of “U-S-A” and the organizers of the convention apparently filtered in white noise to muffle their voices.  The implications could not be more obvious: the Democratic Party is officially all about war.  Of course, Nobel Peace Prize winner Barack Obama’s war record already tells us that.  The war criminal in chief has bombed almost double the number of countries that George W Bush bombed. Democrats care (about power and wealth).

All throughout the convention, and especially during Clinton’s speech, the weird interruption of seemingly random “HIL-LA-RY” and “U-S-A” chanting at moments where it made no sense perfectly added an absurdly surreal element to the otherwise highly choreographed display.  In the video below notice all the yellow shirts in the crowd.  Those are Bernie Delegates who have switched to the Green Party.  Listen to the discordant chanting at a seemingly random time in her speech.  This is not good political television when you’re trying to convince people you’re a popular candidate.

The media is trying to say a very high percentage of Bernie Sanders supporters are going to vote for Clinton, but these people must be hiding under rocks because I’m not seeing a whole lot of them on Facebook and I don’t know a single one of them personally.  And they’re certainly not the active and energized Bernie supporters who are motivated and dedicated to changing this country for the better.  Those people are switching to Green and voting for Jill Stein in this election, for the most part.  Some have other strategies or prefer Gary Johnson of the Libertarian Party.  Those people see no place for themselves in the Democratic Party, and rightly so after what the party did to us in this primary.
Jill Stein has seen her polls number jump in the recent weeks and I am eagerly waiting for the post-convention polling numbers to be released.  I suspect Clinton will get no bump and may actually decline in the polling and I believe the single greatest bump in polling will be for Jill Stein.  Stein has been very vocal throughout the convention, participating in protests outside the convention, and once even infiltrating and getting ejected from the convention.  She’s received a small amount of major media coverage, but still much more than she had been receiving prior to the convention, and people frustrated with the Democrats and who refuse to vote for the criminal, corporatist, warmongering Clinton despite all the Trump fear mongering are starving for a better option.

Never heard of Ecosia before. I may give it a try. I have been using DuckDuckGo for a few years now and have been very happy with it. Unlike Google, DuckDuckGo does use any sort of filter bubble technology.

This marks the beginning of the end for the established duopoly in the USA. It’s happening in the UK too……
