"The 2001 Anthrax Deception"

The 2001 anthrax letter attacks in the United States killed five people and
wounded dozens. They were widely blamed on extremist Muslims and their backers and used to support the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq.
Shortly after 9/11, the US was once again gripped by fear as letters containing anthrax were sent through the post to news media offices and two US Senators, killing five and infecting perhaps dozens of others. Initially widely-blamed on Al Qaeda and Iraq, the attacks were used to jusify and accelerate the USA PATRIOT Act. But as evidence grew that the anthrax spores had originated in laboratories embedded in the US military-industrial complex, attention was diverted to looking for the “lone nut”; a quest that ended with a convenient suicide.
But what, asks Dr. MacQueen, should we conclude from all the “intelligence” that supposedly pointed towards Al Qaeda and Iraq in the first place? Was it all error? Or was it, as he persuasively argues, a nexus of “faulty” intelligence, “prescient” media reports, “tips”, and astonishing “coincidences” that inescapably points towards a group of insiders within the US state appartus itself? And if so, argues Dr. MacQueen, the evidence heavily suggests that this group was also responsible for planning the 9/11 attacks.

Jerome Hauer was a participant in the June 2001 smallpox war game Dark Winter which is discussed by Graeme MacQueen. On 9/11 Hauer was working as director of the Office of Public Health Preparedness and security advisor with the National Institute of Health. He was the one who advised the White House to begin taking Cipro as a precaution against anthrax. Did he know something no-one else did? In 1998 Hauer got funding from mayor Giuliani for the study of West Nile virus. The following year the virus appeared in NY, and Jerome Hauer led the fumigation effort. Lucky, eh? Stephen Hatfill was the prime suspect in the 9/11 anthrax attacks. He was innocent, but at one stage he had the dubious honor of working for Jerome Hauer. For those who can’t make it through Dr Graeme MacQueen’s outstanding video let me give you his two key points: (1) US officials war-gamed a smallpox attack in June 2001 entitled “Dark Winter.” It bore many similarities to the anthrax attacks of 9/11, including the use of envelopes as a delivery device and an alleged link between a terrorist group acting in concert with the Iraq government. Key public figures involved in both Dark Winter and the 911 anthrax attacks include journalist Judith Miller (fabricator of lies about Iraqi wmds), James Woolsey and Jerome Hauer (more on him later). James Woolsey had also been Bill Clinton’s first CIA director. There were never good reasons to believe that bin Laden was behind the anthrax attacks of late 2001 since he would hardly attack such specific targets as the two leading congressional opponents of the Patriot Act. The difficult-to-produce ‘Ames’ strain of anthrax was initially sourced to the Dugway US military base. Inconclusive evidence pointed to one government virologist, Stephen Hatfield (who protested his innocence throughout and cooperated with the authorities). The investigation petred out. According to Barbara Honegger, the main suspect source for the anthrax was CIA/DIA contractor Battelle Memorial Institute (BMI), a bio-defense contractor located in West Jefferson, Ohio. It had exclusive control of the Ames strain contained in the mailed anthrax letters and, in partnership with the CIA and Defense Intelligence Agency, ran Project Jefferson, the government’s covert bio-weapons program whose goal was to develop hyper-weaponized anthrax like that contained in the mailed letters and which Rumsfeld ordered… Read more »
It was the anthrax attack that was the equivalent of the Reichstag Fire. Up to that point, there was opposition to the Deep State plan to implement the US PATRIOT Act. The anthrax attackers focussed on US politicians leading the opposition along with some journalists. The rest, as they say, is history.
It is for this reason that all the focus on the minutiae of the actual 911 attack is a distraction. The real insider attack was the anthrax attack.
I don’t really have anything earthshattering to add to this discussion, but readers may find it interesting. The final form of the Patriot Act was largely a result of interference by Big Tobacco and their bought man, Tom DeLay. What I find interesting about that, besides the fact that, as Congressman Henry Waxman notes, “The tobacco companies didn’t care that in striking that provision they might have opened the American people to greater risk of a terrorist attack and funding terrorist groups that might attack our own people,” is the fact that no one ever talks about that history (http://bit.ly/2dfVIm8).
A second thing I might mention is that the chemical weapons industry in the US, the center of neoliberalism (and deregulation therefore) in the universe, is very much shared by government and the private sector. The private sector!!! See the documentary “Anthrax War” (http://bit.ly/2dECqqW).

In fact the Anthrax attack was following the “Strategy of Tension” to divert from the glaring contradictions within the official narrative about Nine Eleven. It was another means to cover up the Inside Job Nine Eleven.
