Labour’s Day of Action to save the NHS

For anyone concerned about the appalling crisis in Britain’s NHS, the Labour Party is holding a National Campaign Action Day on January 21st. More information HERE

“People are lying on trolleys in corridors waiting to be seen. Hospitals have had to close their doors, unable to admit patients. The health service and social care are at breaking point.
It is a crisis made in Downing Street by this Government.
It is a national scandal.
Despite finding billions of tax giveaways for big business and the richest, Theresa May’s Conservatives failed to find a single penny for the NHS in their Autumn Statement.
The government must cancel their tax breaks for the wealthiest and fund our NHS instead.
I am demanding that the Prime Minister comes to the House of Commons tomorrow and sets out to the British people how she plans to fix her failure on the NHS.
And we need every Labour member to take action.
Jeremy Corbyn

It’s about time Labour came clean about their part in the decades long dismantling of NHS for the covert privatisation probably into a US style for profit model of health business, I cannot call an insurance, for profit, based model, health care.
Concentrating on funding is not nearly enough, the corporate friendly, huge bureaucratic structures that have been set up along with the internal market and scandalous PFI etc. must be addressed and outed.
Simon Stevens and Jeremy Hunt are doing their final double act distraction fake blame game. Stevens is out of private health insurance industry.
1 hour Peter Bach film documenting the covert privatisation of NHS since Thatcher government. http://selloff.org.uk/nhs/default.html
A follow up documentary to ‘sell off’ is being made but needs funding… https://www.gofundme.com/thegreatnhsheist

Labour as the Conservatives have proven time and time again how much they believe in the NHS. Maybe if those who assume power swore an allegiance to the people of this country as opposed to the entity entitled the crown, the NHS may be seen as something to build instead of dismantle. Stop deceiving us Mr Corbyn.

Since Magna Carta, the power of the people IS the power vested (symbolically) in the Crown. The Monarch bows to the commoners on inauguration day, without that, they cannot accede to the throne. The Coronation Oath is a pact with the people. MPs must swear an Oath of Allegiance to the Crown (us) which, in theory, makes them public servants (as are Judges, the police etc.) Not that you would know it.
Apart from the rape and privatization of the NHS, part of the toxic Tory agenda is to turn our Constitution on its head and make Parliament supreme. It is the hidden agenda of Brexit. Considering how pernicious that could be, not many seem to notice.
While there’s still time, Lawful Rebellion anyone?

I’d be more likely to take part if it was reframed as a ‘National Day of Action Against PPI’. Some of us have severe misgivings about the racket that is modern medical provision and do not necessarily want to see more money chucked at it, even if we do broadly support collective medical services.

Health as a % of US GDP is 18%. The figure for Europe is, give or take a %, is about 9%. It should be added that the healthcare system in the US is nothing to write home about. The costs of US health care are inflated by Health Insurance companies and the Pharmaceutical Industrial Complex. Privatisation, and its corollary of rent-seeking, have been a feature of the commodification of what ought to be public goods. This has been one of the key features of Neoliberal troika of privatisation-liberalization-deregulation: if it moves privatise it. The demand for public goods, railways, health, education, energy, transport and water utilities, is both price and income inelastic. Therefore price hikes and insurance costs do not result in reduced demand. It is a licence for the corporate rent-seeking sector to print money since the consumers have nowhwere else to go. Privatisation is simply capitalism in its racket stage.

They’re underfunding it because they want to privatise it.
Action, reaction, solution.

They are too busy funding the likes of ISIS – sorry ‘carefully vetted moderate rebels’, wasting money not attacking terrorists, poncing about trying to important in the Baltics, funding No Good Organisations and ‘journalists’ in the Fake Stream Media.
