VIDEO: R2P or How the Left Learned to Stop Worrying and Embrace Wars of Imperial Aggression

If the last three years have taught us anything, it is that the so-called anti-war liberal left can be made to become cheerleaders for the same war agenda that they pretended to deride during the Bush Administration. How was this accomplished? A developing doctrine of international law called “Responsibility to Protect.” Links to sources and show notes here.

Listen to the perverted CFR spokesperson talk. He says that when the Security Council works, it doesn’t. The assault on the people, everywhere, continues.

Hmm…we need working definitions of what liberal and left actually mean in 2017. In the United States “liberal” roughly means anything left of the Republican centre. “Left” is basically synonymous with liberal and the two terms are used interchangeably. Most commonly “liberal-left” is used by those who identify as right wing to mock adherents of the Democratic Party and their supporters.
The “right” in the US – from libertarians to run of the mill GOP supporters to apolitical people that lean right – are waaay pit of touch with what basic political concepts like “socialism”, “Marxism”, “communism” and sometimes even “capitalism” mean. Obama has done many things for which he ought to to held accountable, but being a “Marxist” or “socialist” are not among them. Yet everyone from Limbaugh to Alex Jones to the sociopaths commenting at Reason magazine label Democratic policies as Marxist, socialist or “hard left”.
This is simply not true no matter what ones views are. How anybody can think the Democrtats are “Marxist” is beyond me. Then there are people like Bernie Sanders who call themselves socialist even though they are nothing of the sort. If these people can’t even sort out basic ideological concepts what else are they missing?
Which brings me back to the topic at hand. Liberal “left” imperialists are definitely liberals but are they also leftists? I say no, they are not. If ‘left’ = opposition to the status quo, concern with collective rights and state regulation/control of the economy…there is no way these people are of the left.
There is no left left after the European social democratic parties and the barely-left Democratic Party sold their souls to neoliberalism. They are simply washed up liberals who like the perks of mainstream establishment politics. They pretend to stand for workers rights and all the rest when it suits their interests but their enthusiastic support of R2P (how Orwellian is that term??) shows their true colours. Scum all the way through.

No-one can call themselves socialist or be described as left who is not primarily concerned to address the core and growing problems of wealth inequality, poverty, and homelessness. Liberal they may be, but not left.

Apologies to James, but opposition to war isn’t diabolical.

A good refresher and still, tragically, very relevant. The war on Syria has further sorted out the faux liberal so called left from the more consistent anti war, search for truth and pro humanitarian outlets and individuals. Democracy Now! and The Young Turks notably fail again.
Now we are in a position where citizens of countries/states and even their governments need protection from the ‘International community’ bombs, destruction, NGOs, media, proxy armed forces, ‘charities’ and egregious sanctions that have caused millions of deaths, unimaginable suffering, divisiveness, internal displacement and refugees!
