Actually Arrby, it might be easy to dismiss Fox wholesale, on reputation alone. But Hannity and Carlson are two of the only voices asking the right questions on Mandalay Bay and the twists and turns of the Mueller investigation. Sure, they are trying to twist things to their Right wing agenda, but that’s not too hard to filter out. Maybe they do have some merit after all?

The allied bombing is hugely problematic once placed in its historical context.
Consider the stages that preceded it.
First, an illegal war, prosecuted without any proper media, or public scrutiny.
Then, destabalisation of a country (Iraq) due to woefully inadequate post-invasion planning, memorably described by one analyst as a ‘petri dish’ for radicalism, and political violence (at 03:00)

As Iraq fragmented the allies (i.e the USA) turned their attention to Syria dreaming up further derranged rationalisations for military conflict. Ultimately we had a situation were the allies were bombing the ‘good rebels’, sorry, I meant ISIS, the very group armed, trained and financed by the US (amongst others) in the first place.
The USA will walk away from the human catastrophe that has unfolded in Syria just as they did from all the other invasions that have led to nothing but chaos and misery. Remember the frantic evacuation of the US embassy in Saigon; a perfect metaphor for the cowardly way the US runs away from the perennial harms it has caused.
Curiously the British media, led by the likes of Jonathan Freedland, seem more pissed off with the people who try to point this out (so called conspiracy fruit cakes) rather than those actually responsible for dark, and sinister deeds. The daily the anti-Russian briefings being run by the Guardian tells us that very little has changed, and it is only a matter of time before they will be advocating further military intervention as a means of combating a force that ordinary people cannot quite see, or understand.

Bombing the crap out of a city is “the American way. We had to destroy the place in order to save it”. Leaves the USAF & their RAF tail buddies with the satisfaction that even though “the irresistible armed might” of NATO and its Daesh proxies could not conquer Syria, at least the native Syrians will have suffered untold death and destruction. Same as Vietnam & N.Korea.

Bombing the crap out of Raqqa is not necessarily synonymous with destroying ISIS.
The West helped drive ISIS out of Mosul, true, but Syria is a different story. There the US and its “coalition” (and Israel) have gone very easy on them…even effectively intervening on their behalf several times.
