I always avoid the stuff! Headaches and palpitations, it’s pure poison.

I get the same symptoms with headaches and palpitations. I avoid this poison like the plague. The interesting thing with Aspartame is that it increases appetite which makes people eat more so it negates the effect of it having no calories. The irony …….

With respect, this is not really news, the dangers of aspartame have been known about for at least 20 years as well as the role of the FDA. I thought Off-Guardian was more for the purpose of current affairs and politics.
Don’t get me wrong, I completely avoid aspartame and try and have a reasonably healthy diet, ideally organic, but this is not the place, in my humble opinion.

It may not be news to you, but still, the great majority of people in the UK are unaware of the dangers of aspartame.
A major problem in the UK is that medical authorities are so concerned about sugar in soft drinks that aspartame is seen as preferable by the manufacturers. I had learned to my cost that ‘low in sugar’ actually means ‘has artificial sweeters’ which might include aspartame. Nevertheless, and having been diagnosed with a terminal cancer myself in 1999 and being extremely careful what I consume, I bought a drink on a very hot day of Tango. It wasn’t described as low in sugar or ‘diet Tango’ but when I looked at the ingredients, sure enough it contained aspartame. I took the can back, but was looked at blankly when I explained about aspartame’s dangers.
So I for one applaud Offgrauniad’s showing of this film. It has distressed me greatly over recent years to see much of the left apparently subsumed into support for big business’ agenda. A couple of areas worthy of investigation are flouridation of water and the introduction of so called ‘smart meters’, although there are many many areas of concern.
