Selling Integrity

David Macilwain

Ever since Dud and Pete put a price on “Integrity” in their Welsh music teacher sketch of the ‘60s, the word has had suspicious undertones. Rebuffed by the teacher for thinking he can be bought, the rich industrialist says “- Integrity! – that’s a valuable thing and I’m willing to pay for it!” For a little light relief in these dark days I’d recommend listening to this classic and timeless social comment.

It’s probably not just by chance that the “Integrity Initiative” was the title chosen to describe a program – or operation – that is the absolute antithesis of what it suggests. In fact the more that the activities of the organisation, and objectives of its overseer the Institute for Statecraft, are examined, the clearer this becomes; – the Initiative exists to spread disinformation about every action correctly perceived and acted upon by Russia.

But far worse than that, the focus of the “Statecraft” of Chris Donnelly’s Institute is in manipulating public perceptions so as to craft States suiting the interests of the NATO enterprise, and opposing the interests of Russia and her allies.

It seems as though the Integrity Initiative has been so successful in this manipulation – along with its horde of fellow agents and organisations – that it is not possible to interest people in this shock-horror show of the 21st century; they just don’t seem to get it!

Perhaps it’s not a true measure of the state of Australian media, but the lack of any reaction to a letter I had published this week in a regional daily paper – the “Border Mail” has rather stunned me. Over the years this rather independent newspaper has been prepared to publish similar dissenting opinion while all others stay silent, and at least generated local interest amongst ordinary folk who are not prejudiced by being “well-misinformed”.

(my letter, sadly behind a paywall, noted that true democracy depends on true information, as it is corrupted by disinformation; an issue with local relevance thanks to our Independent Federal MP Cathy McGowan – a woman who stands out for her personal integrity and dedication to representative democracy)

But “destroying democracy” failed to stir the swamp this time it seems, which is cause for great concern, and the need for this analysis. without labouring the issue, at least to the point of being tiresome, it’s necessary to spell out details of the most serious crimes of the Institute for Statecraft’s Initiative Strategy – ISIS – and of those in the UK and US state apparatus who have devised and commanded them.

While not forgetting that MH17 didn’t just fall out of the sky on the orders of one Ukrainian commander, or with the collaboration of the Ukie secret services alone, the connection of that atrocity to the IfS is barely proven, yet. Which leaves “Salisbury and Syria” as the areas where certifiable crimes have been committed – in contrast to simple ‘cyber-operations’ such as the targeting of Jeremy Corbyn, or false claims about Russian interference in European affairs.

Salisbury and Syria have in fact been identified already, not just as closely linked but as the key focal points of the Integrity Initiative AND the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office. This particular document from the last cache of hacked documents spells out all the details we need, and from the horse’s mouth – the Head of Counter Disinformation and Media Development Programme at HMG’s Russia Unit, Andy Pryce, who sent this email to “engaged” partners:

Sunday 15/04/18 13.03pm

This e-mail focussed on the Russian disinformation campaigns surrounding the chemical attack in Douma, subsequent military action, the Salisbury incident and the subsequent investigation. It is not intended to cover Russian responses as a whole but deliberate distortions and obfuscation of the facts by the Russian state and its proxies.

Please use as background for your own work and only share it with trusted colleagues and partners.”

The “subsequent military action” Pryce refers to took place less than 24 hours earlier! Examining the activities of NATO officials and Intelligence agencies in the interregnum between the carefully timed White Helmets attack on Douma on April 6th and the joint missile strikes leads to more questions than I have already asked, as here.

Pryce goes on to detail “31 different disinformation narratives deployed by the Russian State on the bungled assassination attempt in Salisbury and the horrific chemical weapons attack in Douma.” He also concludes that: “The Russian State is claiming that there is a joint UK, US and French effort on information warfare from Salisbury to Syria.”

This is also a particularly interesting statement to make, as the conclusion that there was a linkage between the Salisbury Operation and Russia’s actions in Syria was not yet made – by the Russian State. It was only being suspected at that time, and a link claimed by myself a week later. From my close attention to the statements of UK officials, I actually became suspicious that they were cleverly avoiding making any connection between the two “Chemical Weapons” operations publicly, while using every dog whistle they had to make the connection in the public’s mind. Boris Johnson was I think the first to chuck “and in Syria” into one of his public utterances.

This was despite the constant stream of propaganda in the Western media about the impending humanitarian disaster for the people of Eastern Ghouta, accompanied by nightly White Helmets child rescues. Looking back also, it appears that there were other “chemical attacks” staged by the White Helmets, but never picked upon –as if waiting till the timing was just right in the UK. We shouldn’t overlook the time of the Russian Presidential election either – March 18th – as the FCO certainly didn’t.

Looking at the “timeline” of events since before “Operation Nina” (or was it “Iris”?) has become something of an obsession for many of us, because there are so many incomprehensible discrepancies, both in Salisbury and Syria; the time lapse between the Skripals’ admission to hospital and that of Det. Inspector Nick Bailey is certainly one. As Rob Slane has pointed out, Bailey seems to have had some indecision on which time he went to Salisbury Hospital, with a delay before any antidote might be administered of up to 48 hours.

What is more astounding is that Nick Bailey’s very own testimony, given in detail to Jane Corbin in the BBC Salisbury special, destroys any claim that he ever came into contact with a lethal nerve agent. Without the slightest apparent recognition of its meaning, Bailey described how he “remained conscious throughout the treatment” – which involved a variety of injections and drugs. Bailey does however appear to have been another innocent victim of “friendly fire”, like Yulia, accepting the lies told to him about both the cause of his condition and its treatment.

As before, in the end it comes down to “who knew” that they were involved in the most devious and dangerous campaign of disinformation and criminal provocations in history, and who simply acted as “useful idiots” or helpless victims of their own states’ propaganda? And who knows now, that the need to conceal their complicity and collusion in these dastardly deceptions may also necessitate some further extreme measures, including lethal operations?

But perhaps those who do know are worse than we imagine; perhaps they are willing combatants in this war to rescue the West’s collapsing empire and its towers of Babel? In the light of our new knowledge – that what were conspiracy “theories” are now conspiracy studies, every new move by the NATO camp comes under suspicion, while all previous actions must be reviewed.

For example I recollect how the Australian PM at the time, Malcolm Turnbull, turned up in London only three days after the 14th April missile strike on Syria, and was involved in Five Eyes discussions on cyber security. What then seemed meerly suspect now appears revelatory, as Turnbull’s remarks mirror those written only four days earlier by Andy Pryce:

Whether it is a chemical attack in Syria, the use of a nerve agent on British soil, or the expanding cyber attacks across the internet… these must be resisted, they must be protected, they must be identified,” Mr Turnbull told the meeting in London on Thursday morning.

UK Prime Minister Theresa May said Russia has also been trying to distort the truth of what happened in chemical weapons attacks in Salisbury and in Syria.

Now it appears that Australia’s favoured solidarity with the Five Eyes also extends to life after Brexit – a deal or no deal Brexit evidently planned for and welcomed by Liam Fox, the UK’s International Trade and Development Minister. Following the Brexit crisis in Parliament, Liam Fox had a special meeting with Australia’s new High Commissioner in London, George Brandis, with mutual reassurance that trade and political links between the UK and its former colony would survive and blossom.

Just as “Honorary Colonel” Chris Donnelly wanted.

Good article David I like the reference to Peter Cook at the start I can imagine him saying something like…

“Aye,aye. What we got ‘ere mi lad? The Integrity Initiative too many “I’s” – some kind of warped oxymoron – seems to have evaporated like the proverbial scotch mist from where it came. Taking with it countless millions of unaccounted tax payers money.”

The Integrity Initiative is/was an anti-Russian propaganda outfit funded to the tune of 140 million by the British Foreign office.

“…throughout the 20th century, as Mueller/the Five Eyes/Integrity Initiative are not new phenomena but actually follow a modus operandi set down for already more than a century.”

“..noted that true democracy depends on true information, as it is corrupted by disinformation”
This is the central thesis in M Scott Peck’s excellent book “People of the Lie”, which posits that the primary characteristic of evil is not barbarism, but lying. Since making moral choices is dependent on having accurate information to inform decisions.
By any such measure – and certainly in my mind – institutions like the “Integrity Initiative” are amongst the most evil actors on the planet.

binra

I read that – I preferred his work on community building (Different drum) in its observations of pseudo-community, chaos, emptiness, community – as stages and states within any relational Dynamic. But that was where there was at least some willingness for relationship.

People of the lie are in my opinion all of us, but in his specific focus; those who seem to have no capacity or willingness to look within. They think, but are set in their own self interest to use their relationships and outer world as the assertion and extension of such a self without actually relating. And are often ‘respectable’ members of the community.

Its tricky judging others because what we meet is always a co-creation. But my sense is that some are born closer to terrors or guilt that sets the mind against opening itself to anything else – and this can take forms in which the beliefs that work are necessary – and truth doesn’t come into it – excepting the overriding truth of the necessity of prevailing and defending against loss of power – where power is not IN the external situation – but is acted out there against inner conflicts.

The raw unbridled expression of rage, defiance, hate, refusal, vengeance, are all attributes of a sense of evils served hot, but they can also be lived out cold, unseeing, dissociated, and uncaring or sacrificing of all else.

The mind is engaged in every imaginable strategy of defence against its own undoing.
So I recognize evil acts – that are hot or cold in terms of triggered outbreak of inflamed hate or the deep set of an incapacity to see or imagine any other kind of life – but I don’t invest in evil people, perhaps because I have looked upon it in myself and seen it is founded on a lie or misidentification. But the giving of power to a lie is what makes it destructive.
No one can release in themselves what they WANT or are COMPELLED to see instead in the Other.

“If only there were evil people somewhere insidiously committing evil deeds, and it were necessary only to separate them from the rest of us and destroy them. But the line dividing good and evil cuts through the heart of every human being. And who is willing to destroy a piece of his own heart?”  ~~  Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn

As I see it we can all be ‘triggered’ to reenact separation trauma – as a dissociation from present relation – under the spell of unhealed attempt to escape a past that we may not even consciously have memory of.
Loss of wholeness is loss of love, connection, and power of support – and this is a loss of integrity. All the king’s horses and all the king’s men cannot put Humpty together again. But that doesn’t mean they are not seeking full spectrum dominance with regard to threat of loss of power.

‘Denying all incoming’, is not a defence, but insanity. When we are triggered to hate, we are apt to deny anything the ability to interfere. The mind is set by hate, fear and guilt to ‘protect’ something locked away, buried, and hidden – something to be kept apart. Covered over. Never told. Denied. ‘Safe’ under a mask turned forever away. Defend the mask. The mask is life.

Kathy
Kathy

Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. Come to my mind.
Binra what you say is so true. It seems we are all to able to convince our selves that black is white and lose integrity. We don’t always realize we are doing so. People can and often do commit great wrongs by convincing themselves they are doing right.

binra

Unless we look within and check for truth – we act as if we know – yet know not what we do.

To ask how do to check for truth is disingenuous. Listen, feel and be with what is here.

The diversion into ‘how to’ can only interject processes that then serve as obfuscation, because we can tick all the ‘right’ checkboxes as if that is caring enough to connect.
We either want to know the truth or we don’t because we ‘already know’ – But even a little willingness amidst loud resistance is enough to abide in and grow in.

Disinvestment in tyranny starts within our own fears.

For truth to come into our minds is only needful to not obstruct. So learning not to get in our own way is of course uncovering so much that set our habits and patterns of thought.

I can only call for integrity in another through my own.
If I lack alignment in my own integrity then I may call out the disintegrity in others as if to seem to have integrity myself. To give false witness and to teach myself a lie – regardless whether the others are or are not in their Right mind, I forsake mine.

Nearly everything that runs under the name of morality is blame-manipulation or indeed hate penalty. There is virtue and worth that is in Life that can be embodied or extended and shared as life, and there is a deep sense of unworthiness that cannot abide its own life and must then use others to try to get energy and support from outside.

We judge ourself in others and hate ourself there, as if it is safer.
But to recognize where I hate, and ‘check in’ for truth, is refusing to give worth-ship to what in truth I know to be destructive to love’s sanity – even if at the time it blots out my capacity to remember. Faith in what I have lived and shared grows as faith in hate is withheld.

So I inhibit my expression of hate until it is undone to communication, rather than let it usurp or deny communication.
Else we become the thing we hate.
And I disinhibit the movement of communication – which is love – by moving or expressing it as true of me.

While the ravages of corruption seem powerful and are destructive, the basis of a life aligning in the integrity of our being is the condition that is not available or open to deceits born of hidden fears – unless of course to unhide them!

The first corruption is using the names of true meanings to mean something else. So redeeming our ‘word’ is to uncover what we truly mean.
Integrative intelligence is whole in all its parts. Reintegrative willingness is recognising ourself in others – but not in sin, sickness and limitation, but as a being of choice.

Sovereign will or freedom, is the nature of our ability to willingly accept, and share in all that is true. If we could not refuse, we would not know the nature of a true will by its extension.

A world running on programmed reaction embodies choosing not to choose and so ancient choices run as defaults.

Excellent post. This is a HUGELY important story that should be covered endlessly in MSM, but of course to even suggest it should is a “thought crime.” As P.C. Roberts points out, to simply attempt to discuss “reality” today makes one a “conspiracy theorist” in these strange times. The corruption of our Western institutions is complete, total, absolute and irrefutable. They exist as the most dangerous and destructive forces ever directed against collective global humanity.

What a bizarre world we live in David that we must turn the – “cheesemaker-Luddite-farmers” – of the world to bring us the “truth.” Thank you for your quite obvious – integrity.

My impression from talking to and observing my fellow Australians is that they can entertain the notion of a corrupt United States and even the notion of a vicious, unethical United States – but as soon as you suggest that the United Kingdom, and especially England, can be equally or even more corrupt, vicious and sordid, eagerly exporting torture and violence (through soft power as well as hard) to other countries for profit, Australians either go completely ballistic at you or shut down entirely.

It’s as if you can’t say anything that would suggest Australia itself is tainted by the Mother Country or the Mother Culture, and should cut the psychological apron strings. Because if Australia did, then … who’s going to defend it against the hordes from Asia and the South Pacific?

On top of that, criticising the US and Americans is easy in Australia – but to do so, we are using cultural and social mechanisms and institutions that, at the same time are critical of the US go easy on the British and are loyal to them. We laugh at Americans and their politics but when the conversation turns to discussing British politics, the notion that Theresa May is incompetent and possibly corrupt herself (because of her husband’s connections to arms companies selling weapons to Saudi Arabia), that some of her Cabinet Ministers are idiots and jerks, or that members of the Royal Family are no better than money-grubbing or publicity-seeking twats, sends most Australians into mental paralysis.

Perhaps because it also applies even more so to Australia and the Aussies don’t like to admit it? Think of East Timor. Wonder what John Pilger’s view of this is?

As a migrant to Australia, I note that it is not a good idea to criticise US foreign policy (and thus Australian foreign policy) as they (US) saved Australia, didn’t they during WW2. Also, no way to criticise Blair (re Iraq) as Blair was a good guy, wasn’t he.

George Cornell
George Cornell

We used to excuse Australia for being boorish, racist and jingoistic American mini-me wannabes.
They are so far away. But with modern communications there is no excuse. It is an appalling country, smugly and arrogantly self-satisfied with scarce human empathy.

binra

Well here we are, is the pot nice and shiny that calls the kettle black?
Sweeping generalisations.
How ’empathetic’ are you?
I find a lot of people respond to being treated honourably with a like response.
We don’t have to ‘like’ each other to give as we would receive.

The desire to morally guilt people is the evasion of the underlying beliefs that frame the behaviours.
Perhaps everyone quick to judge others is ‘smug’ in self-righteous superiority.
Perhaps it helps them get through their day?

People in influence get there through filtering processes, and learn where lines are that, if crossed can bring down penalty. Yes they can also be bought – but this can be via flattery, promotions, favours and otherwise believable-at-the-time confidence tricks. There is also the control of assets who risk exposure of negative effect from their past or from being set up. Or simply a fear of being rejected and excluded or ‘wakefielded’ for stepping out of line with everyone else doing likewise. I didn’t mention gagging orders. (Oh but then I did).

I cant imagine it feels comfortable being supportive of a corrupt system or institution, but that is where the mind works overtime to come up with some contextual mitigations or excuse and justification. That what the mind ‘does’.
Perhaps a few sweeping generalisations about the people they lie to or withhold truth from as being unworthy – say boorish, racist and jingoistic mini-me wannabes.

“You cant trust the public, because they are too easily manipulated – and we should know!”

Have a good day!

George Cornell
George Cornell

So let me see if I understand you. You seem to be saying that all a country needs to be immune to criticism is to have a few people who do not agree with sending their men into faraway countries at the behest of the Buck Turgidsons and Mad Dog Lemnitzers. There are always dissenters. I prefer to judge countries by what they do. A few dissenters do not excuse the ethos of the elected majority who thought killing several hundred thousand Iraqis and Afghans was ok.

So those few dissenters, scarcely audible or visible in Oz provide a “get out of jail free” card for the right wing wackos that dwarf them?

I am disappointed that you try to make this personal (a feeble argument) by questioning my human empathy but I think I am empathetic. So do others who actually know me. But this cannot be settled on an anonymous site, so why go there?

binra

No I am not saying what you think I said, and I asked you how you fare under your own criteria of judgement.

Saying that you THINK you are empathetic suggests thinking – not feeling – but that is your own business, not mine. Recognizing yourself in another might mean INSTEAD of judging them and believing they are what you think them to be.

You express your frustrations with the world and with those you see as responsible and judge ‘countries’ by what they do. Or perhaps elected majorities for what they went along with.

Who would want to be immune to criticism?
But you don’t mean criticism, you mean blame and penalty of blame.

Dishing out blame.

Isn’t that what starts wars – and often falsely flagged?
The desire to blame rather than accept responsibility – for what is yours to take – is the giving of responsibility (power) to others, to leaders and to circumstances – excepting circumstances can be manufactured, staged or reported in such a ways as to export blame and punishment AS IF doing a moral duty or necessity. And those who refuse to support it, traitors or lacking all empathy with those suffering under the evil regime.

George Cornell
George Cornell

Making this about me is a feeble strategy and yes of course there is blame to be assigned. In case you really think that the deaths of 500,000 Iraqis is not blameworthy.

binra

I only reflected to you feedback to your willingness to notice. I’m not ‘making it all about you’ and if I thought blame would help the Iraqi people or the US people I would use it. The human race used to be automatically assigned sin, but now it is only for selected targets. I seek a better way but I understand your distress seeks some path of resolving. I wish you well.

You/we also do it and practically taught America to become a bigger version of Britain” they go absolutely fucking mental. Like when you point out the sas car bonvers in Basra (which would have been blamed on jihadists or whatever) or that two branches of the British army the FRU and MRF would drive around shooting people in the north of Ireland from both sides and blame it on the IRA (and the history books and the cain institute of the history of the troubles haven’t amended the attacks to say the brits did it) you get the ballistic response despite being facts over feelings people apparently and the weird thing is these people mock squaddies themselves. People are moral cowards by and large especially westerners

binra

The basis ruse is to steal your Soul by selling you a sense of worthlessness or inadequacy – and then with the other hand, sell it back to you… in substitution. There IS no substitute for love – and without love of truth there IS no awareness of integrity – and so the naked, dress up in fig leaves and complex financial instruments or priestly mysteries of elitist hideaways.

So of course take nothing at face value in a world of masking over hidden agenda unless of course you are willing to sell your sole responsibility for a managed existence.

in a world where “Everything is BACKWARDS;

learn to read it backwards.
The rabid accuser seeks diversion.
What they are not telling you is not shown.

Seeking PR for ‘impact’ is the gravity model of the Universe of collisions. Its a dead end or perhaps a prison planet for the enactment of a dead beginning, over and over again the dace rises to be trampled underfoot. Over and over again the light of a true integrity rises – is seen as threat – and is trod down in favour of the devil we know.

The devices by which to prop up the improper use of the mind are legion. But the underlying purpose and patterns are recognisably the substitution for true relational communication by those who jockey for the power to do so, via the disempowerment under false thinking.

Living from a belief or fear of lack generates the very thing it is predicated on. What can a lack of life do but scramble by any or every means to ‘survive’. Some are inclined to accept guilt and sacrifice, others to dish it out. It isn’t a merry go round but a madhouse.

Sanity dawns on the incapacity to persist in its replacement.

There are similar cases in the UK. In 1994, there was a hoax car bombing at the Israeli Embassy in London. Nobody was hurt and damage was minimal. Forensic evidence led to the arrest of 2 Palestinian political activists who got long sentences. These 2 had been befriended by a man who asked them to look at a car he had bought. This Mossad agent then vanished into thin air. The British state was fully aware of this but the 2 men were left to rot in jail.
