That’s not my experience at all in South Philly. In my neighborhood, the most pro-mask militants are black. All the confrontations i’ve seen over mask wearing have been black people confronting white people without masks. The woke crew in the US has racialized covid, making much of disparities in outcomes for black and white. Consequently opposing covid orthodoxy is widely depicted as racist in social media. Phase 2 of this is pervasive rhetoric designed to racialize vaccinations so that black people will feel cheated if they aren’t made a priority.

In my view the black community in the US has been instrumentalized by neoliberalism to distract, divide and discipline. The political climate is such that even suggesting this makes you a racist, even though it’s entirely obvious to anyone with an empirical bent. They are so politically untouchable right now that any but the most delicate discussion of the current black crime wave afflicting cities, or the spike in hate crimes against asians committed by black people will get you mobbed in social media.

I used to be reflexively liberal when it came to the black community. That was before they became shock troops for the most predatory ruling class in history. What’s charitably called anti-racism now is a pernicious combination of religion and fascism, entirely bereft of anything remotely progressive. The mass capitulation to it is truly a study in how people put vanity and social status before self-preservation.

The Victorian state of emergency has been extended until December 16th in a vote in the Victorian Parliament today. The Greens leader Samantha Ratnam was one of the ones who voted for this along with the Animal Justice Party, the Reason Party and other crossbenchers. I listened to part of Ratnam’s speech about it. Seemed like every 4th word was ‘pandemic’.
She was whining that a ‘lot of paranoia had been whipped up’ due to disinformation about the “pandemic”.
The absolute treachery of these so called ‘social justice warriors’ makes my blood boil.
