We will have a chance at remedy by accepting that the system is irrational and broken by design and that, with the possible exception of jury nullification, it cannot be remedied by any of the other so-called check and balances said to exist with the corrupted system itself, all of which are ineffectual and can simply be ignored, including voting.

This is completely obvious by now, and 'eternal vigilance', vociferously protesting "the erosion of your freedoms at the local and national level", perpetually, and almost always completely without results, and never permanent ones, is a ludicrous suggestion and expectation that would become irrelevant as we currently think of such vigilance as soon as people would embrace the notion that we are not morally bound to eat at the filthy restaurant with bad service and bad food, arguing ad infinitum with the other customers about who should manage it and how we might make the restaurant clean up and offer polite service and good food.

This is a completely unreasonable model that verifiably does not work. The Constitution long ago failed in its role as the protector of individual rights, if it EVER really functioned that way, and no one living ever agreed to be bound by its terms, anyway, or even many of the people living when it was written, and we need to turn the page on this dead-end line of thinking.

We're not obliged to go to or pay for the filthy restaurant. It's time for other options, multiple, many, to be discussed, tried and made workable, all in keeping with natural law and justice (any others being inherently invalid), for the brightest minds to turn their attentions to that, and away from 'fixing' the manifestly unfixable.
