In reply to <a href="https://off-guardian.org/2026/07/13/we-have-a-choice/#comment-773454">stooge</a>.

I agree. Truth is, for me personally all that crap in checking, checking, checking your password, "how many photos with xxxx in them", 6 digit code by text etc etc JUST TO ACCESS SOME INNOCUOUS SUPERMARKET LOYALTY CARD WEBSITE or similar ffs has actually made me look forward to when I will close it all down and get a dumb phone instead. Let it all go. Simpler and mentally healthy life it will be.
My estimate is next year when the UK scum insist on some digital id mechanism and I'm out, buh-bye and thanks for the fish..

I get how age verification could deter children from reporting abuse but I'm wondering whether this would not also put the abusers in the spot light for their crimes and thereby help in prosecuting them?
Which leads me to the question of whether or not there'd be a work-around for the digital ID/age verification for politicians and the upper echelons of power everywhere else so they could evade prosecution. Just like Australia's federal politicians (and probably other people in power) were free to choose whether or not to have the C shots.

I hate how Microsoft says my password is wrong, and that I've tried it too many times, when it's right and I tried it once. They are all doing it now. They won't let you sign in with just a password. You have to give them another email and your phone and your home address and your right arm and your first born. That's really low, saying your password is wrong when it's right. I also like how some 16 character long passwords that have so many rules it takes an hour just to figure out one that will pass muster. Fuck security. I want to access my e-mail, godammit.

Excellent article Iain, we do indeed have a choice.
Fear prevents most people, who've been in the system for a long time, from taking action.
I feel that when your message reaches, and inspires, a critical mass of the younger generation who have nothing invested in the system, positive change will take place rather quickly.
