While the west is still in a 1984 type system (since ww1),
China is headed towards Huxley's Brave New World.

I hate to say it but Brave New World is not bad at all.
The only people who are screwed are the ones who want to live outside the system.
Everyone in the system is taken care of and there's no need for war.
Alphas, betas, deltas, and gammas do their own things and feel good for their work unlike in our 1984 societies that are lop sided to serve the wealthy.

West - wasps. Hierarchy
China - bees. Communal

I think the people of China are, if not now content with how the government runs the country then used to the restrictions, it would appear that unlike the West - corporations are not above government control yet, that one thing if true will irk the big corporations and the super rich oligarchs.

Another thing that words in the Chinese governments favour is that many Chinese still think the West demonises China and its system, so nationalism is still strong within the country, and that makes it easier for a government to imposes greater restrictions using national security as the catalyst.

Of course Western democratic nations want better services, but is surrendering our freedoms to gain them the right way to go, and we know that Western governments would take great advantage of us - if we just gave in and said do what you will, as long as we obtain better public services, reducing our numbers would certainly be on their to do list.

China has done well using its kind of totalitarian system to control the masses, but is it really the way forward, I say no, we in the West are used to our freedoms even if it means we offend or criticise governments politicians and other public figures, in the West some folk see China as a stalwart against Western hegemony, and that's why they spout China-Maxxing, however for me China is further ahead on controlling its masses and implementing them - via using the notion of they hate us so we'll unite as one people against them, which suits the Chinese government - in the West we don't unite behind our governments we berate them for their lies, thefts and their wars etc - now they are trying to copy China's totalitarian system to shut us up.
