Larry Chin: “steering the masses towards total war”

Larry Chin writes the latest in our series challenging the narrative of the “new 9/11”, offering different perspectives on the Paris attacks, all of which are largely ignored by the corporate media. It goes without saying that the atrocities of Paris on November 13, 2015 were unspeakable and sickening. But what is not being said in the wake of the incident—what has been ignored by the mass media—is predictably telling and ominous. As in the wake of 9/11, the people of the world are being provoked, agitated and mobilized; the fear, horror, rage and shock channeled and shaped into wave of collective vengeance and hatred. Hatred towards what and whom? The Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the attacks. But what is the Islamic State? The fact that remains willfully unacknowledged is that Islamic State is the guided military-intelligence and political apparatus of the West, created, trained, financed, advised and protected by the West and NATO—including France. The Islamic State and Islamic extremism, including Al-Qaeda, functions on behalf of NATO and Western geostrategic interests. The …

James Corbett: “how governments terrorise the public”

as part of our challenging the narrative of the “new 9/11” series, this article from the International Forecaster asks ‘has Paris really changed everything?” The meme has already been floated: “Paris changes everything” according to the terrorists in government who stand to benefit from the changes that the Paris terror attacks are bringing about. But is that so? Has Paris really “changed everything?” Well, let’s cast our mind back to those heady days of November 12, 2015, shall we? How does the pre-Friday the 13th world compare to the world of today? Before the attacks, the EU could chide France for missing its budget deficit goals. After the attacks, the EU can try to chide them, but France can swat those concerns aside by invoking the EU’s own protective security clause. Before the attacks, the French could protest a bill granting sweeping new surveillance powers to the intelligence services. After the attacks, the government can grant the police special emergency powers and amend the constitution to make those emergency powers permanent with widespread popular support. …

Martin Berger: “The ‘Shadow Aspects’ of the Paris Massacre”

another in our series challenging the narrative of the “new 9/11”. Here Martin Berger brings together what he sees as connected strands of western strategy A series of bloody attacks in Paris exposed a handful of aspects that have so far been hindered by the official rhetoric of Western politicians and media sources in order to show the so-called “success” of “anti-terrorist campaign” unleashed by Washington. But first one must ask the question – who benefits from the Paris attacks? Let’s start with coverage of the unprecedented wave of migration that has struck Europe in recent months. The Western media has already begun to gradually leak information that there’s no way that this flow could be unprovoked or uncontrolled, so there can be little doubt that there’s certain financial and political circles behind this crisis. Ultimately, these criminals have struck gold, cashing in on the desire of displaced residents of Africa and the Middle East to pursue a better life in Europe. A series of investigations that were being carried out in this field would …

Nafeez Ahmed: “NATO is harbouring the Islamic State”

As part of our challenging the narrative of the “new 9/11” series we publish an extract from Nafeez Ahmed’s latest article, which can be read in full here. Why France’s brave new war on ISIS is a sick joke, and an insult to the victims of the Paris attacks We stand alongside Turkey in its efforts in protecting its national security and fighting against terrorism. France and Turkey are on the same side within the framework of the international coalition against the terrorist group ISISStatement by French Foreign Ministry, July 2015 The 13th November Paris massacre will be remembered, like 9/11, as a defining moment in world history. The murder of 129 people, the injury of 352 more, by ‘Islamic State’ (ISIS) acolytes striking multiple targets simultaneously in the heart of Europe, mark a major sea-change in the terror threat. For the first time, a Mumbai-style attack has occurred on Western soil — the worst attack on Europe in decades. As such, it has triggered a seemingly commensurate response from France: the declaration of a nationwide state …

Tony Cartalucci: “West Leverages Paris Attacks for Syria Endgame”

as part of our challenging the narrative of the “new 9/11”, Tony Cartalucci tells us why he believes the Paris Attacks will be used to create another Libya The terrorist attacks carried out in the heart of the French capital, either coincidentally or intentionally, have served as the perfect point of leverage for the West on the very eve of the so-called “Vienna talks” regarding Syria. With its serendipitously strengthened hand and with France taking a more prominent role, the West is attempting to reassert not only its narrative, but its agenda regarding the ongoing conflict in Syria, an agenda that has – as of late – been derailed by Russia’s military intervention and recent gains made on the battlefield by Syrian military forces. The London Guardian stated in its article “Paris attacks galvanise international efforts to end Syria war” that: “…The Isis attacks in Paris have galvanised international efforts to end the war in Syria, with a new deadline set for negotiations between the warring parties and for a country-wide ceasefire. There is still …

John Pilger: “From Pol Pot to ISIS: The blood never dried”

Following the ISIS outrages in Beirut and Paris, John Pilger updates this prescient essay on the root causes of terrorism and what we can do about it. Part of our “New 9/11” series. In transmitting President Richard Nixon’s orders for a “massive” bombing of Cambodia in 1969, Henry Kissinger said, “Anything that flies on everything that moves”. As Barack Obama wages his seventh war against the Muslim world since he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, and Francois Hollande promises a “merciless” attack on the rubble of Syria, the orchestrated hysteria and lies make one almost nostalgic for Kissinger’s murderous honesty. As a witness to the human consequences of aerial savagery – including the beheading of victims, their parts festooning trees and fields – I am not surprised by the disregard of memory and history, yet again. A telling example is the rise to power of Pol Pot and his Khmer Rouge, who had much in common with today’s Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS). They, too, were ruthless medievalists who began as a …

Paul Craig Roberts: “More Paris Puzzles”

As part of our series exploring different points of view on the “new 9/11”, Dr Paul Craig Roberts questions the official narrative. Some people who are not inclined to believe the official story of the Paris attack are troubled by the question why Muslim suicide bombers would blow themselves up for a false flag attack. The answer to this question is very simple. But first we should dispose of the question whether suicide bombers did blow themselves up. Is this something that we know, or is it part of the story that we are told? For example, we were told that during 9/11 passengers in hijacked airliners used their cell phones to call relatives, but experts have testified that the technology of the time did not permit cell phone calls from airliners at those altitudes. To dispose of the question whether we have or do not have any real evidence that suicide bombers blew themselves up, I will assume that they did. So we have suicide bombers blowing themselves up. Now turn to the question …

Thierry Meyssan: “The French Republic Taken Hostage”

As part of our challenging the narrative of the “new 9/11” series Thierry Meyssan, of Voltairenet.org, suggests the French public have paid the price for their government’s dangerous politics. Translation by Pete Kimberley. The war which has now spread to Paris is incomprehensible for those French citizens who are ignorant of practically all the secret activities of their government in the Arab world, of its unnatural alliances with the Gulf dictators, and its active participation in international terrorism. These policies have never been discussed in Parliament, and the major media have rarely dared to take an interest in them. For the last five years, the French people have been hearing about distant wars, but without ever understanding what they meant. The Press informed them about the engagement of their army in Libya, but never about the presence of French soldiers on mission in the Levant. My articles on this subject are widely-read, but perceived as some sort of Oriental aberration. Despite my personal history, it remains quite acceptable to qualify me as an “extremist”, or …

Dmitry Orlov: “a most convenient massacre”

as part of our challenging the narrative of the “new 9/11” series, Dmitry Orlov suggests the Paris attacks were classic false flag events. “… after the Russian jet crashed in the Sinai there weren’t all that many Facebook avatars with the Russian flag pasted over them…What’s the difference? You were told to grieve for the French, so you did. You were not told to grieve for the Russians, and so you didn’t. Don’t feel bad; you are just following orders…” . What a difference a single massacre can make! • Just a week ago the EU couldn’t possibly figure out anything to do to stop the influx of “refugees” from all those countries the US and NATO had bombed into oblivion. But now, because “Paris changed everything,” EU’s borders are being locked down and refugees are being turned back. • Just a week ago it seemed that the EU was going to be swamped by resurgent nationalism, with incumbent political parties poised to get voted out of power. But now, thanks to the Paris massacre, …

Andre Vltchek: “Ignorance and Indoctrination of Westerners Kills Millions”

another article in our challenging the narrative of the “new 9/11” series; this one by Andre Vltchek Our planet Earth is heading straight towards the most dangerous collision in its history. It is not a collision with some foreign body, with an asteroid or a comet, but with the most brutal and selfish chunk of its own inhabitants: with people who proudly call themselves “members of the Western civilization.” Again and again it is clearly demonstrated that Western culture, which the paramount psychologist Carl Jung used to call “pathology”, couldn’t be trusted. This “culture” had already mercilessly slaughtered several hundreds of millions of people in all corners of the world; it enslaved entire continents, and plundered all that had any value, whether it was located above or under the surface of earth. Inhabitants of Europe, the United States, as well as rulers of the client states, showed chilling indifference towards the suffering of their victims. They also demonstrated utmost ignorance and the highest level of indoctrination! For centuries, citizens of France, United Kingdom, Belgium, Spain, Portugal and …

Pepe Escobar: “the Paris Attacks- cui bono?”

from Pepe Escobar on Facebook. Part of our challenging the narrative of the “new 9/11” series There’s no evidence this is a false flag – at least for now. What this seems to be proving is that Daesh is a certified pro ops with badass connections. Scouring a ton of reports, I found a Danish citizen describing one of the attackers to a Paris café; ultra-pro, black-clad head to toe, AK-47, very well trained. These are not your usual al-Zawahiri underwear bombers; these are precision killers. This one left the scene undisturbed, and contrary to French police, may not have been captured. He wore no suicide vest. French intel swears they are monitoring at least 200 nationals who came back from “Syraq”. Talk about a lousy job. Paris is hyper-policed. The mind boggles thinking of at least 8 jihadis promenading at will on a Friday night dressed as pro killers. For me, this is also personal. Jihad came to my hood in Paris. I left Paris last week on my usual commute back to Asia. …

the Paris attacks: challenging the narrative of the “new 9/11”

this already is a “new 9/11.” And it’s up to the alternative media – right now – to do a better job of challenging this Minitrue narrative before it’s too late. With that in mind we’re going to be offering contrasting takes on the meaning behind the Paris attacks by different authors, all of which challenge not only the official version, but – just as importantly – each other. We don’t want to replace one locked down “official narrative” with another. We want to open questions that don’t necessarily have easy or available answers. Because the right and ability to question is ultimately what matters.
