Russia was certainly important, as was Hezbollah and the IRGC.
But you have to remember that the bulk of the fighting was done by the Syrian Army and People.
They fought back heroically against the Axis Of Evil, the United Snakes, Kosherstan, Shady Wahabia, Sultan Erdogan, the slimy Gulf Dictatorships, and Washington’s satraps in France and the UK.
These state sponsors of terror flooded Syria with hundreds of thousands of takfiri head choppers and throat slitters from over 100 countries, with no coherent objectives other than a licence to murder, rape, torture, maim, loot, burn and enslave to their hearts’ content.
These charming folk were armed, trained, paid, transported and orchestrated with western taxpayers’ money and Gulf oil money. It’s difficult to estimate how much money they poured into this, but it was certainly in the many tens if not hundreds of billions. £3 billion of UK taxpayers’ money alone went into this latest Zionist regime change project. A single arms deal Qatar did with Croatia cost $5 billion. The Shadies were buying tanks for them from Ukraine, 100 at a time. They were certainly much better equipped than the Syrian forces defending their country from the most barbaric subhuman terrorist filth on the planet.
Those nice folks at the Guardian and the rest of the MSM gave Syria a maximum of 6 months before Syria went the same way as other Zionist targets like Iraq and Libya.
But not for the first time, they underestimated Syria, which has always been remarkably resilient in resisting the Axis of Evil. They fought back with 50 year old T54s and MIG 21s., manned by troops paid $50 a month. They shot down Zionist aircraft with 5o year old museum piece S200s.
And with allied help, they have won, albeit at tremendous cost. The aggression against Syria is a busted flush. It is going nowhere, and the repercussions and recriminations will take many years to work their way through the system, like ripples in a pond. An awful lot of pigeons will be coming home to roost.
Syria has survived. If Venezuela manages to endure the same Axis of Evil, aggression will have been defeated, particularly as Washington’s quisling stooges are overthrown one by one in Chile, Ecuador, Brazil, Argentina, Haiti, Ukraine, and now Bolivia.
But none of this would have been possible without the courage, determination and endurance of the Syrian people, army and leadership, which stood firm against all the odds and resisted the most powerful and most evil countries on the planet.

You may recall Obomber’s sniping and sneering at the time.
Russia was going to get bogged down and achieve nothing.
And a lot of people in Russia were dubious about the operation.
Putin realised he had to stop Washington and Tel Aviv sponsored Islamist mayhem breaking out in Russia again.
There were losses, but the forces committed achieved results out of all proportion to their size. The Russian moslem military police and the de mining units as well as the air force.
The US carpet bombed Raqqa and Mosul leaving a moonscape with thousands of bodies buried under the rubble. There was no attempt to make them habitable again or carry out the most rudimentary de mining.
Russian units ended violence by negotiating ceasefires all over Syria.
Of course it helps when you don’t have a dysfunctional government with mutually antagonistic factions fighting one another like rats in a sack, each pursuing contradictory policies and supporting different terrorist groups.

You and @Stomper clearly haven’t done your research and found the (ridiculous on so many levels) explanation advanced by anti-Assad/anti-Russian commentators – that the parents did this in order to safeguard the future of the family against Russian domination in Syria.

For future reference, and I shall give you this for free, you might like to note that many Syrians now turn to RT for “reliable” news. According to the same pro-Western commentators, they either “feel obliged to say this” or “they have been brainwashed”. [Irony alert] Well it’s no surprise of course as Syrians as a race are such gullible people who don’t know what’s good for them, unlike civilised Western populaces.
