Harari seems to me to be making the common mistake: people invent something, for example a computer, and then start thinking that they can solve a lot of things with the computer. Give a baker a pen and he will use it as a stirring rod. Give an intellectual a fork and he will write with it. Give a thinker a computer and he wants to make the computer think. Something that the computer cannot do, but that the thinker does not understand.
A computer remains a calculator, no matter how complicated it seems. In fact it is a box full of switches. No more. A non-technical person does not understand that and then goes terribly wrong. That is why technology is sometimes very dangerous.
