Conspiracy Theories Revisited

Parked continually at a cliff-top near my town in Sussex is a dormobile, its windows covered in posters about conspiracy theories, particularly QAnon. Recently I had a chat with the owner, giving him a copy of the Light newpaper, a publication that focuses on powerful forces conspiring against the masses.
QAnon, however, is discredited by critical thinkers as a CIA trap, a fabricated paedophile extortion ring to divert attention from the real paedophile extortion ring (Jeffery Epstein and his ‘Lolita Express’). Middle-class moralists often complain, demanding that the authorities move this man in a van (they would not be so fussed if he was displaying Extinction Rebellion prophecies of doom).
How to understand what’s happening in our tumultuous world?
Coincidence theory is the most common perspective – incidents happen randomly, as reported on ‘the news’. A thorn in the sides of the establishment dies in a car accident (Epstein victim Victoria Giuffre, for example), and it is nothing but misfortune. This is lazy thinking, but another outlook on events is more cerebral.
Cock-up theory, as posited by Private Eye and commentators such as Toby Young, lampoons councils spending money on rainbow crossings instead of repairing the ruts on nearby roads, or responding to a coronavirus with a draconian lockdown, as bureaucratic folly. But I don’t regard the likes of health minister Matt Hancock as idiots; indeed, in some cases it is reasonable to suspect conspirators.
Having awakened to malevolent misrule during the covid-19 debacle, I am looking back as well as forward at major events. Did they really happen as presented at the time? I pulled from my bookcase the compendium Conspiracy Theories by Jamie King (2010; first published 1998). This guide covers 104 conspiracies, briefly summarising the official and alternative stories. King tends to reserve judgment, leaving intrigued readers to explore further. His introduction states:
One can argue that obsession with conspiracy theories serves only to demonstrate the lunatic paranoia running rife in today’s society. But in reality, history has proved all too well that politicians lie, presidents lie and bureaucrats lie. If we continue to be gullible and believe everything that is presented to us, the truth will never come out. It becomes not only interesting and revealing but an absolute priority to question authority, and, more specifically, the authoritarians
That’s a retort I’d like to use for hecklers, when distributing the Light paper to the public. ‘It’s all conspiracy theory’, is a typical heckle by arrested-development intellectuals who are doing fine with the status quo. But they rarely allow me to challenge their outright denial of any ulterior motives in the cloisters of power.
The term ‘conspiracy theorist’ is a smear, deployed by mainstream media to undermine independent journalism and dissent. One of the tactics is to take the most extreme idea from conspiracy speculators to tar then all with the same brush. For example, if you don’t believe the covid-19 narrative you must believe that 5G masts were erected to spread the virus.
Here, I have chosen six conspiracies from King’s book to reconsider.
1. AIDS
Auto-immune deficiency syndrome emerged in the 1980s in the homosexual communities of New York and Los Angeles. Some Christians regarded AIDS as divine retribution for a modern Sodom and Gomorrah. It was also rife in southern Africa, and the conspiracy theory was that the disease was introduced by the US military to cull black people. Such thinking was useful to the establishment, as it primed the public for the potential of a deadly pandemic caused by a hostile power.
The link between AIDS and the HIV virus has been contested, initially by Peter Duesberg, with suggestions that the syndrome is the result of prolonged illicit drug use and sexual promiscuity in gay men. All of this is relevant to covid-19, for which a common conspiracy theory attributes the outbreak to release (accidental or deliberate) by the Institute of Virology at Wuhan in China, where the disease first appeared. Many sceptics, however, believe that the lab-leak notion is a trap, manipulating people into validating the existence of the virus. The same may be said of cynics who asserted that HIV vaccines were actually spreading HIV.
Indeed, a niche of medical dissidents argues that the whole concept of viruses is a scam. Covid-19 was presented to the public as a virion in the form of a sphere with protruding rods (like a naval mine), as if this is seen under a microscope. Whatever the truth about viruses, clearly they have been exploited for fear, control and radically destructive interventions.
2. Vaccines and autism
According to King, ‘most people accept that childhood vaccinations are a necessary part of growing up’. He does not dismiss the putative link between the combined measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine and the surging incidence of autism, but he perpetuates simplistic rebuttals of Andrew Wakefield’s thesis. In fact, Wakefield was not found to have falsified the research, which was published by the Lancet, with sixteen fellow investigators (quite a conspiracy!). Wakefield’s wrongdoing was acting on behalf of research participants in a court case, which was a conflict of interest.
On MMR allegedly causing autism, King notes ‘Wakefield himself admitting that it was not based on any solid evidence’. That was merely stating the obvious. Wakefield and team had produced indicative findings, and that is how science works: begin with a hypothesis that can then be tested rigorously. Wakefield never got to pursue the research, because Big Pharma and the medical establishment stepped in, and media dutifully denounced him as a crank.
3. Peak oil
In the 1990s we were told of impending disaster for an oil-dependent world, because the ‘black gold’ was running out. Looking back, this scare was simultaneous to the launch of mass propaganda on anthropogenic climate change caused by burning of fossil fuels.
We now know that ’peak oil’ was artificial scarcity, pushed by an unholy alliance of political leaders and oligarchs to boost their power and profits. Some sceptics believe that oil is not a finite pool from decaying matter but an abiotic resource, as suggested by natural refilling of intensively drilled oil fields (e.g. at Eugene Island in the Gulf of Mexico).
The purpose of the OPEC cartel is to curtail supply, to protect price and profit. The goal of technocracy, as pushed by the World Economic Forum’s ‘great reset’, is to wield total control over resources, and this is never for the benefit of ordinary people.
4. Chemtrails
‘Overpopulation is becoming an increasingly serious problem, with living space and natural resources dwindling fast’, asserts King. The idea of chemtrails, using aeroplanes to drop heavy metals on people and crops below, seemed far-fetched until recent years.
Although the majority of the populace remain like cattle, never looking upwards, more people are alert to the troubling patterns in the sky. In the past, aircraft emitted thin vapour trails that soon dissipated, but now these often linger and spread, merging with other contrails to form clouds. Often a sunny morning is followed by a grey noon.
Chemtrails would be a form of geonegineering, an enterprise that is secretive but officially stated. For example, the British government recently announced funding for a project to dim sunlight by spraying particles high in the sky. Not only meteorological but also geological effects are possible, with suspicion that earthquakes have been caused by covert military operations.
There is no doubt that rainfall, and thus water distribution, are being manipulated. A recent flood in Dubai was caused, on official admission, by excessive cloud-seeding. The technology has existed for decades, and the deadly deluge at Lynmouth in Devon in the 1950s was probably the result of an early trial. Truth typically comes out decades after a suspected activity begins, maintained by a conspiracy of silence.
5. Moon landings
This is perhaps the most debated conspiracy theory in modern history. You may believe or disbelieve the official narrative, and there is also the possibility that astronauts completed their mission but that imagery was staged for greater impact. The live telephone call to the US president from the lunar surface was stretching the technological boundaries in 1969. Movie director Stanley Kubrick was working on Space Odyssey 2001, and his filming in the New Mexico desert would have been useful to NASA.
There are many signs of fakery, alongside scientific obstacles to the moon landings. Buzz Aldrin, in old age, told a school girl that ‘we didn’t go’. Why have no further visits to our satellite been attempted since 1972? NASA claimed that the technology has been lost, having been accidentally wiped from tapes.
The space show goes on. Two years ago an Indian mission to the moon was achieved with what appeared as amateur computer graphics. Singer Katy Perry and fellow ‘wonder women’ went into space this year, landing in a capsule that would hardly withstand a windy day on the beach. They are trolling us.
I believe that the two post-war achievements of space exploration and nuclear armament were planned, the latter following agreement at the Potsdam conference in 1945 on the new world order. The Soviet Union and the USA would compete, to a schedule.
6. 9/11 terror attack
Some conspiracies have become accepted truth, such as the Reichstag fire in 1933. That was a ‘false flag’ by Adolf Hitler’s National Socialists, justifying severe repression of communists. Similarly, the World Trade Center attack in 2001 was blamed on the extreme Islamists of al-Qaeda, licensing George W Bush’s ‘war on terror’.
King asks ‘could it be that the attacks were allowed to happen to create public clamour for a war that would otherwise have been inconceivable?’ American forces returned to Iraq, and then went into Afghanistan, with other countries targeted as an ‘axis of evil’. Like the moon landings, King’s question hints at a third option, that the act of terror happened but with state knowledge, facilitation and graphic embellishments.
For King, ‘the most likely explanation is that the attacks were planned by Osama bin Laden’, as an ‘inside job’ would have been too elaborate for the the government and its agencies. Yet covid-19 showed how widely and deeply a hoax can be orchestrated, supported by a managerial-professional class oiled by pay, perks and pensions. The bureaucrat’s job is not to ask questions.
There are many signs that 9/11 was not an unanticipated terrorist incident. The Saudi perpetrators’ passports found intact near the Manhattan site, where all other material (including human bodies) was pulverised to dust. For a large passenger plane to fly into the low-level Pentagon building was highly dubious. The collapse of Building Seven, after a BBC reporter stated that it had already fallen.
More controversially, were the Twin Towers really stuck by aeroplanes? If 9/11 happened today there would be hundreds of videos, at least of the second aircraft flying into the skyscraper. Back in 2001 there were no mobile phones with cameras. Imagery of the event could have been produced by computer graphic imaging, as increasingly used by Hollywood for blockbuster movies.
Far-fetched, maybe, but consider the aftermath of 9/11, and the emergence of the security state.

A cyclic sense of life has a resonance at all scales, where a linear progression is a line that doesn’t recognize its circularity.
If we proceed a straight line in any direction, we will fall off the edge of the world – or meet the boundary conditions of our respective Guardians – “here be dragons”. That which is forever turned back on itself in recoil is of a self-seeking – framed in a-tempt to possess & control the Already Given – in a new set of robes.
There are archetypal patterns of masking over guilted or shameful fears that shape a ‘superstructure’ of self-justifiction. For every ‘victim’ there must be a ‘perpetrator’, and the attempt to ‘regain’ a lost or denied birthright by the subjugation of others must ‘give’ pain as if to get rid of the hateful by attack – whether openly or masked in ‘forms’ of endearment.

A game of hide and seek extends the game of peek a boo to a range of strategies for concealment. When the first rule of the game is ‘this is not a game’ we establish a basis for emotional investment in ‘competing strategies that include breaking any other of its rules – as a means to keep the game by hiding the light in a world of illusions-framed in terror.
If truth can be put aside to not get in the way of a ‘good story – what of a game that is not worth the candle – of the light we give it by consenting to play? Such ‘secrets’ are lies given power, and their power lies in remaining obscure. What if nothing were truly hidden but the wish to hide made its so?
Yet what could be more obscure than simple truth to a world framed by lies – or more complex to convey in the linguistic framework of minds so entrained? There is always embracing context that is discarded by specialized focus, and a seeming gain of function hides the loss of integral function – by perceiving its own ‘effects’ as novel causes – by which to pursue its gain of fiction to a bitter end that has never exceeded its starting place of proprietary and authority conflict.

There is only one conspiracy: Greed.

The whole point of conspiracy theories is to create an interlocking network of false binaries, where the two purported alternatives are both false but proving that they are false will waste inordinate amounts of time for the non-specialist, when simply suggesting more feasible realities is a far more efficient use of rhetorical power.
So the false binary: EITHER ‘Covid19 is a pandemic disease caused by a virus called SARS-CoV2’ OR ‘Viruses are a century-long hoax created by an evil scientific community’ is the current pointless debate.
As someone who worked with recombinant viral DNA for a decade and did many things which the virus hoaxers claim are impossible (e.g. transmitting selectable characteristics to host animal cells in a lab after carrying out the impossible task of packaging up recombinant DNA in a retroviral coat), I can say with confidence that subcellular entities do exist that behave as predicted by scientists. I have not seen them under an electron microscope, but I have transferred the selectable trait of resistance to certain antibiotics (e.g. puromycin) through apparently packaging such genetic material within recombinant retroviruses. I can claim with certainty that I carried out all the requisite negative and positive controls to prove that what I was transferring would pass through a 0.45 micron filter. And I could prove that other genes con transferred with the antibiotic resistance gene were indeed producing proteins in the antbiotic-resistant cells.
All the work I did depended on 30-50 years of work on how these fictitious retroviruses apparently worked, including the reshaping of the biological information paradigm of DNA to RNA to protein (by making DNA from RNA using reverse transcriptase).It included creating cell lines designed specifically to package up recombinant DNA sequences inside supposed retroviral envelopes, wrapping the RNA up in proteins and lipids. I used those cell lines and they worked in exactly the way they were supposed to.
The fallacy to the argument of ‘no viruses exist’ is simple: saying ‘we have no conclusive proof that we can visualise these viral particles’ does not mean that they do not exist. It means that you have not proven directly that they do.
The no virus crowd make very, very specific limitations as to what they consider to be proof of the existence of viruses. They do not allow contributions from ‘if our hypothesis that retroviruses exist in the following format are true, THEN XXX and YYY should occur’. Showing that XXX and YYY do indeed occur is not considered in any way contributory evidence as to the existence of these viruses.
Of course, if viruses do not exist, then they cannot cause any disease because something which does not exist is to capable of inducing anything.
However, showing that no proof exists that a particular disease is caused by a virus is absolutely nothing to do with whether viruses exist. They may well exist, they just don’t cause whatever disease you are interested in learning the aetiology of.
So my advice to all non-scientists out there is this: separate completely the evaluation of whether an illness is caused by a virus or not; and an evaluation of whether or not viruses exist.
The vast majority of early work on ‘viruses’ (often called bacteriophages when such particles infect bacteria rather than animal cells) involved basic scientific research into how living cells functioned.
The detection of bacteriophages, after all, was often achieved by detection of something which caused growing bacterial cells to burst open, generating visible ‘plaques’ on agar plates growing colonies of such bacteria.
Enormous amounts of basic knowledge about how molecular biology and genetics worked ensued from, such basic research from the 1950s to the 1970s.
Those of us who studied biochemistry in the 1980s learned all about it.
I would very much like to hear from the virus deniers about why phiX174, bacteriophage lambda, bacteriophage P1, M13 and others do not exist and how thousands of human years of basic biochemical research was in fact an elaborate fraud.
I’d like to know who first discovered protein-DNA interactions as a mechanism for controlling the production of RNA and what systems they used.
I”d like to know how the T3, T7 and SP6 polymerase enzymes were fraudulently invented and why commercial companies have been fraudulently selling them for 50 years or so. Not to mention selling the reverse transcriptase enzyme that clearly never came from a retrovirus.
The truth is that it’s perfectly possible to assign falsely that a virus is the causative agent of certain diseases. That has zero to do with whether viruses exist.
What amazes me is how people who deny the existence of viruses are more than happy to claim that ‘God Exists’ when the ability to prove that he/she/it does is completely lacking. By their logic, because no-one can prove scientifically that ‘God exists’, then God is a man-made fraud.

The numbers crossing the Channel in dinghies isn’t significant compared with total immigration to the UK. Since the assassination of JFK – the term ‘conspiracy theory’ has been used in a derogatory way as a tool to try to stop people from sharing their misgivings about official narratives (forced on us by the global establishment’s mouthpieces e.g. the news media and education). Tools like this phrase are antithetical to freedom of speech and ultimately freedom and civilisation itself. This links to what I was saying to a friend the other day about new political parties.
If for some reason I were given the chance to help start and build a new party that genuinely cared about the general public of this country (and subsequently help, and be an example to the wider world) what would I base it on fundamentally? Two things are important at heart imho.
(1) ROBUST DEBATE
I would want the party to appeal to and truly include as many people as possible which would mean that the party must, at heart, be about genuinely free and open discussion, debate and argument. Remember the fake left-right labels are there to divide us because the global establishment know that if we of all angles unite, it is more difficult for them to gain their hegemonic plans. It would be vitally important that every single member ACTIVELY LISTENS to opinions that we may disagree with; and any contentious subjects must be faced head-on – otherwise how can we learn, expand our wisdom, and ultimately try to cooperate and come to any agreements on how to go forward with policies? Let’s face it, in reality, everyone disagrees with everyone else on at least one large issue or another? We definitely should not dismiss other people’s opinions as ‘conspiracy theories’, ‘lefty-nonsense’ or ‘far right’ just because we disagree with these opinions. Is it not true that not one person is correct about everything so the more debate we have, the easier it is to discern things and get closer to wisdom (and then hopefully some intelligent action)?
(2) NON-DIGITAL DIRECT DEMOCRACY
Linked to the need for robust debate, it would be paramount that this party should give policy-making power to every single member with direct democracy. Direct democracy would mean power would be as close to the individual adult person (and e.g. not a centralised bureaucracy or supranational organisation both prone to infiltration by nefarious actors). The ultimate goal of the party should be to gaining a town square, Swiss-style ‘Direct Democracy’ because we all must know by now that representative politics is too easily infiltrated by bad faith actors (and probably the main reason why this style of politics is what we have in this current corrupt world). Importantly, it should be noted that this direct democracy system must be participatory; NON-DIGITAL (digital is prime for hacking and fraud); be organised in small, local areas (like the small, local Swiss Cantons) in order for it to work for trust within the community; and be a ‘vigilant-against-any-form-of-corruption’ system. Obviously, this system should go hand-in-hand with a truly informed citizenry so the public will need to be wise, knowledgable and moral citizens. Therefore, along with robust debate, this direct democracy system must be in concert with the general public having COMPLETE access to all forms of information systems e.g. everyone having free access to every single type of media, library, archive, museum, etc. Above all, every single person having a genuine, critical-thinking and knowledge-based top education (life-long ideally) – for instance similar to how and what Etonians learn including being tutored in very small groups (or home-schooled) in Trivium and Quadrivium-based material rather than what we have now in this era: indoctrination schooling (note: almost all types of education nowadays is indoctrination including both modern, private fee-paying schools and state-education, comprehensive schools).
Anyway, these two main points to me are also my definition of real civilisation. Without open, free debate (especailly about contentious subjects and subjects we disagree on), and without power being as close to the individual adult person as possible (e.g. direct democracy) – ultimately, we cannot be free people or a free country? What’s the point of setting up a party for the people if it does not incorporate these imperative things; and without them we will, once again, be prone to infiltration, subversion and corruption? Let’s try to be wise, folks, and yes, I’ve learnt the long, hard way myself to get to this point and this opinion, especially in light of so many despicable, tyrannical events being orchestrated around us and the world recently. Isn’t it time to put our thinking (& debating) caps on so that we can act in wise, moral ways; and ultimately improve the world for all of us (not the selfish, greedy global establishment), but first we need to listen and talk to each other especially people we disagree with (as I said, we definitely should not dismiss other people’s opinions as ‘conspiracy theories’, ‘lefty-nonsense’ or ‘far right’ just because we disagree with these opinions).

When talking about Conspiracy Theories I find it always best to direct a conversation around small points, and check if the conversation is entered into in good faith. Most Conspiracy theories involve a lot of information. Nail it down to small points, and refuse to be taken down any number of rabbit holes.
Take the RFK snr assassination. 3 inches is a kind of clincher and is what separates fact from fiction, yet most people don’t know or understand the issue. People will blurt, but stick to the guns and ask them to furnish the info by using Blender 3d, ad even some freely available Lego models. They always run away.
On 9/11, take the Mobile Phone calls, and the training for Mr super-pilot that hit the Pentagon. Until those issues are nailed, the issues exists as a Conspiracy. The Canary, on one past anniversary of the attack, allowed a veritable eejut unleash his diatribe on the public. It’s a poster child for how not to engage in good faith.

I am reminded of an old close acquaintance, we had a language far distant from this one and were anxiously awaiting the Providence of someone’s day of significance, which written into the language, the promises were both fatal, and prospective, this was the mid to late eighties.
We waited for what seemed like eternity, it was so long that I lost touch with the fellow, his twin showed up knowing a language but not this one. As time went on, and maps were found and interpreted, a lot of different, at least as evolutionarily significant days, were also promised, but just how many can actually show up, like 1 or 2 of them for sure or perhaps.
The original one seem to fade away not only in mind, but in significance too, and making preparing for all 3 to some degree rather challenging, but then who doesn’t like a good challenge when your life is on the line. Because not only has this day crept up like a thief in the night, it falls into 1st or second place when considering the degree of surviving over the year long term. The other 2 being monthly or by the decade, all 3 are different preparations and at different times too. So perhaps the sOOnest is now the most important one, and then leave the remainders to arrive and see just what is left from the initial one.
The bad news is the odds keep rising as to which one, and when is it due to arrive, sOOner rather than later is the most recent news, but since hardly no one else knows and speaks the language, how are they to prepare with such little notice? I dont know but, even as I prep like mad, no one seems to take much notice, or know just what time it is.
It was one in a million that someone long ago had kidnapped my friend and kept him alive for all these years, only for them to reappear at the appropriate time to race to the quest of someone’s finish line.
