UK Gov’t launches Digital ID “consultation”

Kit Knightly

Yesterday, Keir Starmer’s Government officially launched their “consultation” on Digital ID.

The language in the press release is hilariously partisan…

Government launches consultation on making public services quicker, easier and more secure to access with digital ID

The government wants to know if you’re in favour Digital ID making public services quicker easer and more secure? Or would you like them to stay slow, difficult and unsafe?

For those unversed in the vernacular of British politics, a “Consultation” occurs after the government has decided to do something, but before they’ve actually done it.

After the “consultation” comes the “panel”:

‘People’s Panel for Digital ID’ – an in-depth deliberative engagement process with a broadly UK representative sample of 100-120 individuals to discuss the policy in detail.

…which is a 120-person focus group of totally real people selected at random. Honest.

The supposed aim of this long and drawn-out process is to get vital feedback about the thing that’s definitely going to happen, and therefore be able to best benefit the public when it happens.

The real aim is an extended PR tour creating a façade of conversation and compromise prior to the roll-out of the entirely unchanged plan.

The technology is all built, the app designed, the services locked in. What they’re waiting for is the brief process of normalisation to elapse so that not too many people protest.

And protest we should, because a cursory reading of the full consultation is alarming.

There’s a part about facial recognition technology, for example:

…there is a legal basis for police use of facial recognition, which may include access to biometric data held by government. The government recognises that the current legal framework is complicated, and has launched a consultation (which concluded in February 2026) on reviewing the legal framework for using facial recognition in law enforcement. That consultation proposes a new legal framework that will create consistent, durable rules and appropriate safeguards for facial recognition and similar technologies which are likely to follow it in relation to biometric data held by government in the future. The national digital ID will be subject to any new legal framework introduced.

A word salad which roughly translates to:

“We’re going to put everyone with a digital ID into a police database for facial recognition technology.”

But the good news is that you don’t have to pay to be put on a facial recognition database, the UK Digital ID will be free:

We expect there to be no direct costs to households from the introduction of the digital ID system, as households will not be charged any fees to create, access or use their digital ID.

How this will work with passports and drivers’ licences – both of which you do have to pay to receive – will be interesting. But making one free and one expensive is a very efficient method of blurring the line between non-compulsory and mandatory.

As the old saying goes, “if you’re not paying for the product, you ARE the product.”

So, how do you feel about this idea? Would you like to be part of the consultation?

Because, if you want to leave some feedback…there’s a survey. Have at it.

Thanks for reading...

You can help us keep doing what we do. Every little helps and is hugely appreciated.

UK Gov’t launches Digital ID “consultation”?????

Over 11 million people in the UK hold a concessionary bus pass, with the vast majority issued to older residents (60-66+) and people with disabilities. England alone has roughly 8.7 million, while Scotland has over 800,000 young people and over 2 million older people holding passes, totaling over 11 million holders,

As Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, Conservative Michael Gove spearheaded major housing reforms (2021–2024), including the Social Housing (Regulation) Act 2023, the Building Safety Act 2022, and the Leasehold and Freehold Reform Act 2024. Key focus areas included banning no-fault evictions, enforcing “Awaab’s Law” for mould, and enhancing developer accountability.

With the housing reforms (2021–2024), every landlord had to provide digital ID (passport/driving license) and so did the perspective tenants.

The only useful gov framework they could have made would have been a single compulsory job application form ie compulsory for employers to accept. You then could have saved one form. Appendices for speciality.

But that would have helped people

We can have every humanly possible PRE voting requirement known to man but unless we do what over 70% of nations already do (paper ballots only) no amount of SAVE or Exec Order nonsense will make a damn bit of difference. Don’t be STUPID. They are fooling you. As Stalin said, its not what people vote for that counts, its WHO counts the votes.

The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), which is the UK’s independent regulatory authority for data protection, will conduct a separate “consultation” and find that the GOV ID app is perfectly safe and effective.

1 May 2024 -The UK Conservative Government has introduced identification for voting in person across Great Britain. Voter identification has been recommended by the Electoral Commission since at least 2014 and is in line with the longstanding arrangements in Northern Ireland, which has had the requirement for photographic identification to vote in elections since 2003. Most European countries also require some form of identification to vote, as well as countries like Canada.

Showing photographic identification to vote is a reasonable approach to combat the inexcusable potential for voter fraud that existed in our electoral system.

Across the pond, the yanks love the digital ID voting idea.

The Independent Media Alliance consists of Derrick Broze, Ryan Cristian, Iain Davis, Hrvoje Moric, Steve Poikonen, Charlie Robinson, James Corbett, Catherine Austin Fitts, Hakeem Anwar, and Kit Knightly, within any of the discussions of the global rollout of digital identity programs.

Have any of these Independent Media Alliance authors ever mentioned the UK Universal Credit or that the USA recently had the longest government shutdown in history and what the reasons for that are ? (digitizing 42 million on the social security / snap programme basically the poor, disabled and elderly on to a digital grid)

If you have out-of-touch journalists ( who just repost other people’s reposts rather than engage in any form of on-the-ground journalism), you have this lot so out of touch with reality. They are clueless about what is happening when it finally becomes mainstream, which is what The Independent (hardly independent thinking if you repost other people’s reposts ) Media represents-a true alliance of reposters.

Derrick Broze and Ryan Cristian touched on Trump’s and Musks Doge – Plantiar contracts program and how that fits into the digital grid , something Kit or any of the Off-Guardian authors never mentioned in full. The subject matter has been avoided on Off-Guardian unless it is the recent Labour digital ID issue, which is ten years past its sell-by date.

This digital situation in the UK is over fifteen years old news in MSM.
The UNIVERSAL CREDIT system , owned and run by the Department of Work and Pensions under the Conservative government, has digitized the whole system.

If you’re talking about it now, it is because it may be affecting you now. Millions of people-mainly the poor, disabled, elderly, and even veterans-who they like to use as a narrative, have been forced onto a digital system and had to provide copious amounts of ID, and this system has been tested on them. I have yet to see any of the above-so-called journalists? (reposters) show any of this.

Folks on government benefits have been digitised because it suits the suits.
Keeping track of millions of pensioners, disabled, veterans etc is an incredibly time consuming and onerous task.

That’s not to say I agree with their heavy handed and invasive tactics, but how else could they manage it? Lots of desks and filing cabinets?

As for the IMA and their ‘avoidance of the subject matter’, I think you’re off target.
The IMA is talking about the digitisation of the wage and salary slaves, not the 20%(?) on government benefits.

On the ground journalism requires a big budget and that can only be paid for by lots of puerile advertising.

Is that what you want?

UK anti Digital ID march in London on October 18, 2025, got really bad press by the Zionside of the alternative media.

The UK Parliamentary petition (Petition ID 730194) opposing the mandatory introduction of digital ID cards gathered over 2.9 million signatures by late 2025, making it one of the largest in UK history.
UK bans pro-Iran, anti-Israel Al Quds Day march,The march, which has taken place in the UK for more than 40 years, has been banned by home secretary

They won’t ban a Tommy Robinson march, They won’t ban a Britains First march, but they’ll ban a peaceful protest that’s been going on for over 40 years…yeah that makes a lot of sense….

The English State of Isntrael.

Quds Day (‘Jerusalem Day’), officially known as International Quds Day (Persian: روز جهانی قدس, romanized: Ruz Jahâni Quds), is an annual pro-Palestinian event held on last Friday of Islamic holy month of Ramadan to express support for Palestinians & oppose Isntrael & Genocide.

The same regime that insisted on having Maccabi hooligans run riot and had a chief constable resign over that. The UK Government backs Isnteli football hooligans, prioritising pro Isntrael groups over the safety of the public.

Digital ID will be needed in the future to be able to attend a demonstration.

US calls this “town hall”. It is a democratic charade of consultation. There is little printed material that you can take away to read. No specific person may be responsible. For feedback, the public cannot see the opinions of others, as on a blog or platform, and negative responses may be censored. You must trust the government for evaluation and tabulation.

In this modern era distinguished as that of rolling-thunder-chaos-trauma, off G is a breath of fresh air.

So facial recognition as the handmaid to digital ID is a locked in as anything has ever been locked in but what this article shows, which for me is new, is that it will also be a pay per view/subscription service with only higher levels of subscription affording access to “fuller” or “more universal(?)” or “more transferable inalienable” human rights.

Incredibly total tyranny is also comical.

Incidentally, the so-called “lawyer” named Wyn Young, whom Vaca constantly refers to as an “infallible authority” against Fetzer, is a woman who has been appearing as a “man” since undergoing gender reassignment surgery. Vaca is either blind or lacking in instinct not to notice this, because according to his own agenda, he should be addressing this issue.

But it gets even more adventurous: at this very moment, Vaca is (once again) appearing on Redacted’s livestream as a “whistleblower” to tell the world, according to Silverman, that there are depots with Israeli military drones in his new home country. No joke! I am very curious to see whether Clayton Morris (expat in Portugal) will be able to provide solid evidence for this in his next conversation with his friend Tucker Carson.

Oh and by the way this isn’t just a UK fixation:

Regulation (EU) 2024/1183 establishing the European Digital Identity Framework has entered into force. The framework mandates Member States to provide EU Digital Identity (eID) Wallets to citizens by the end of 2026 in line with the Regulation and Implementing Regulations adopted.

“(3)
The Digital Decade Policy Programme 2030, established by Decision (EU) 2022/2481 of the European Parliament and of the Council (5), sets the objectives and digital targets of a Union framework which, by 2030, are intended to lead to wide deployment of a trusted, voluntary, user-controlled digital identity that is recognised throughout the Union and allows every user to control their data in online interactions.”

It all good though because it will be “trusted” and “voluntary” just like the UK version.

Shame the supposed alt-media never goes there, concealing this giant issue from the public – Izrell’s and by extension, because it has penetrated Izrell so effectively, Russia’s leading role in the hi-tech sector is something that should concern all of us.

Are there any British jounalists doing any work on this – that a huge amount of this dystopian technology crap is eminating from the people who just laid waste to Gaza? That the inroads into our governments means we end up spening gazillions of pounds to turn this country into a militarised surveillance tech-infested dump?

The only person doing any sort of proper job of exposing this key issue is Brendon O’ Connell. He just clipped the Kay Griggs interview down from 7 hours to 45 minutes. The Griggs interview (wife of NATO special operations head honcho) is the gold standard, the definitive exposure of how the ruling criminals actually operate.

1000% essential viewing.

The supposed aim of this long and drawn-out process is to get vital feedback about the thing that’s definitely going to happen..

Quite.

We’re ruled by maniacs who hate us and, on a good day, will throw a sop or two in the vague direction of us Proles. And as for the chiefs who own our rulers..

In summary – we’re f*cked.

UK Gov’t launches Digital ID “consultation”???

Passports or drivers’ licences and utility bill from previous place and 3 months of bank statement and 2 x references and paying 400 euro for a background check in what I had to do to live in a apartment. 6 weeks rent upfront and an month deposit.
They also wanted to see a work contract.

Notice the switch, no longer do they just want a passport or driving license they now also want utility bills that is less 3 months old.

Really angers me.
