I would kindly suggest to dig a bit more. I also like to think about it, because of it I did.

My knowledge is also lacking due that it is a knowledge kept hidden as much as possible but only based on what I think I know now, soul, a surviving soul makes no sense. Would be complete waste.
Indestructible particles filled with energy that work together as long as we live, when they finish co-operating we are over. From dust you have become, to dust you will be. Then that dust very likely will form many other things. Allegedly every cell in us has at least 10 microzymas. It is not a concept but a reality visible under proper microscopes with dark field oil condensers. The only reason why most of us never heard about them is that this knowledge finishes the germ-theory, the DNA theory and so on.
There are a couple of other names for them, somatids, bions, precursors, and more as many researched them and gave different names to them. But which one of them hold the “soul” and why should they?

If I wanted to create a global technocratic superstate, then I would certainly want people to think it to be inevitable.
The only reason the USSR lasted so long is because it could export high value natural resources. A global Soviet, which is what we are talking about, would have no ‘outside’to export to.
People forget that such a technocratic superstate would depend on high quality products and services, but without the freedom to determine their own lives people will not produce such goods and services. They will do the minimum required and choose employment in cushy public sinecures , just as in the Soviet Union.
The EU, which in many ways is furthest along this road, shows why this cannot work. A bloated state sector, collapsing birth rates, high debt, high taxes and over-regulated, and it’s economy hollowing out.

Collapsing birth rates are in part economic consequences of bad policy (e.g., how many families these days can survive, let alone thrive, on a single income?), but in larger part because we women are sick and tired of being treated as little more than broodmares — incubators and nannies for the next generation of men. We are adult humans. Self-determined and self-determining. And some of us just don’t want to have any children.

They don’t really can play with the genome itself, their science on that front is a made-up stuff. They went as far as removing a conference material from sciencedebate just to suppress this knowledge. Genome, genes are constantly changing and they have no idea why or how. The purpose of allowing women to work was to lower wages overall. Except to some extent in Scandinavia, “working women” must continue to perform all their traditional duties.

The ideal oligarchic system CAN last forever. Every generation the population, standard of living and technology decrease but the people adjust.
I lived under the communism in E. Europe and I believe that, without the pression from the west, that system could have lasted 1000 years. As an example my parents enjoyed 2 TV channels 12 hours a day. My generation had to make do with 1 TV channel, 4 hours a day. Nobody cared and I only noticed because my mom was surprised she couldn’t find the second channel.
Look at the westerners now – the retirement age goes up, the life expectancy goes down. In 40 years we could have a “work til you die” scenario and it will be normalized.
I agree however it really doesn’t matter if the goal is depopulation on a slow stealthy way.
They want total control and they want to be seen as gods (untouchable, unaccountable). As they still not figured out how to live longer than 100ish years while they worked hard to figure out using the whole population as lab rats (the vx, trying to replace “god’s microzymas”), the solution for them is to make us live shorter like 30, less people with shorter lives for easier control.
In a point of view of a cat you are “god”, you live longer, effortlessly hunt and provide food, shelter, health if needed, you were there when it was born and you’ll be there when it dies, not even changing a lot during that time.
This looks like a predictive programming.
This dystopia however will not materialize.
