WaPo: Iraqis think US in cahoots with ISIS

towISISSyriaPhotos have been posted to ISIS-affiliated Twitter accounts allegedly showing ISIS fighters using U.S.-made TOW anti-tank missiles.

The Washington Post reports:

On the front lines of the battle against the Islamic State, suspicion of the United States runs deep. Iraqi fighters say they have all seen the videos purportedly showing U.S. helicopters airdropping weapons to the militants, and many claim they have friends and relatives who have witnessed similar instances of collusion.

Ordinary people also have seen the videos, heard the stories and reached the same conclusion — one that might seem absurd to Americans but is widely believed among Iraqis — that the United States is supporting the Islamic State for a variety of pernicious reasons that have to do with asserting U.S. control over Iraq, the wider Middle East and, perhaps, its oil.

“It is not in doubt,” said Mustafa Saadi, who says his friend saw U.S. helicopters delivering bottled water to Islamic State positions. He is a commander in one of the Shiite militias that last month helped push the militants out of the oil refinery near Baiji in northern Iraq alongside the Iraqi army.

The Islamic State is “almost finished,” he said. “They are weak. If only America would stop supporting them, we could defeat them in days.” […]

  1. rehmat1 says

On December 1, the US Defense Secretary, Ash Carter, kosher Gentile, announced that the US is dispatching more “special forces” to fight ISIS/ISIL in Syria and Iraq. He also claimed that request came from Iraqi government. The ridiculous claim had been refuted by Iraqi prime minister Haider al-Abadi.

Last month Russian president Vladimir Putin revealed that the US forces have not bombed a single ISIL target in the last three years.

I am not surprised to learn this. ISIS (Israel Secret Intelligence Service) is co-ordinating this rolling-out of the Yinon Plan and the AIPAC-controlled US Congress is more than happy to bend over backwards to ensure the US people get well and truly shafted in the process.
As others have pointed out here, there are Turks who are becoming incredibly rich trading in looted Syrian and Iraqi oil and artefacts on the international stolen goods markets.
What real efforts have been made to interdict movement of stolen oil and goods by anyone except the Russians?
    Answer: None at all !
Just who is on whose side in all of this?
That is the question that needs answering.

  3. Mick McNulty says

To paraphrase, “I have seen the terrorists and the terrorists are US.”

  4. Millions of Americans know exactly what the Iraqis know – it’s no big surprise to the enlightened. Is the WP for real?
And we the British people are allied to these US supporters of IS! Thousands of Iraqis and Syrian’s have seen the US air drops of supplies and weapons to IS positions and Washington thinks these Iraqi/Syrian people will allow US/EU dictatorship over Iraq’s government and Assad? WTF! Are Conservative/Blairite pro war hawks brains in back to front or what?

    • Well my new guardian Monica lasted precisely 72 hours – they clocked me!

They’re all wanking themselves stupid over Hillary Benn’s war mongering speech over there. It’s disgusting. I am so angry at the moment
