Continuing CIF censorship in the service of propaganda

by Vaska

Peter Schmidt, an old-time Guardian reader and CIF commentator, has sent us this glimpse of the continuing suppression of criticism and genuine investigative news reporting by the paper’s CIF moderators.
On February 29 the Guardian carried the article “Life after Ukraine: the ‘invisible’ Russian fighters struggling to return to normal” — written by one Georgy Pereborshchikov for Meduza, part of the New East propaganda network Graun joined a couple of years ago. In a CIF thread to that article, Peter had come across the following sardonic comment by BMWAlbert, pointing to the links between the source the Guardian has chosen to use – the Latvian propaganda organ Meduza – and one of the most corrupt and now exiled Russian oligarchs, Khodorkovsky.  We are reprinting it here with a couple of adjacent comments as their placement will help show the subsequent erasure of BMWAlbert’s entry:

An hour after the comment was posted, Schmidt checked back on the thread to discover that CIF moderators had wiped it off the record. There is now no trace of BMWAlbert’s comment — which would have stood between Bosula’s and mickeyrat’s entries deleted by the moderators for some infraction of the CIF community standards — or its link to an article that debunks Meduza and its credibility.

Heaven forbid the Guardian’s readers should learn what sort of compromised sources the paper is using in its coverage of Russia, NATO and the civil war in Ukraine.

Its not just the Guardian…
I’ve just finished reading an article published by the BBC
http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-35708114 West faces up to Putin aggression
Its utterly appaling ‘journalism’,
Full of innuendo, circular logic, and fact free assertions -eg
+ Migrant crisis: Russia and Syria ‘weaponising’ migration
+ Western powers, who have been backing moderate rebel groups are floundering in their response.
(The Evil headchopping AlQueda of 6 months ago have suddenly morphed into ‘moderate’ rebels)
+ the West must act before it is too late.
And of course, the endless projection
“If Russia prevails through the use of force, it will regard it as a really significant and effective component of its foreign policy and will continue to deploy it,”
Russia has 3 small bases outside its territory, US well over 700.
All paid for by the long suffering British taxpayer, with no provision for comments or write of reply

I’ve noticed also that the number of Guardian articles where CiF forums have been attached is decreasing alarmingly and most articles where people can comment BTL are now of a light entertainment nature.

Did manage to follow link from this article back to Guardians original article and used their F/B share button and post anti Graund comment from their own site.
:The Guardian or Graund is now an object of ridicule which it justly deserves. Comment is Free as long as you aren’t saying what they don’t want people to know about. Best used as toilet paper on those desperate occasions or just as usefully to line the cat litter tray with.

You didnt mention that other top comment about Russia and Germany which Guardian of course didn’t remove even though it is a complete bullshit (killing their neighbours) and xenophobic. As someone said, russophobia is the only openly accepted form of xenophobia and racism in the west, even though west is full of hatred and superiority complex for a lot of cultures, ethnicities and races only russophobia is one that you can show openly and even proudly.

Facebook is having trouble recognizing the cover photo file for this article and is blocking us from posting it on FB. I’ve informed them of the problem, but who knows when they’ll look into it.

The Graund is well past it’s sell by date and should be used as toilet paper in desperate times.
