WATCH: How (and When and Why) to Cite Your Sources – #SolutionsWatch

Today on #SolutionsWatch, James Corbett goes into further detail about the theory and practice of source citation. In addition to the hows and whys of citing sources, James also addresses the weaponization of the “What’s your source?” question and how people can use citations to improve communication, not interfere with it.

Sources, shownotes and links – as well as audio versions and download options – can be found here. Previous episodes of #SolutionsWatch can be found here and here.

The smart way to keep people passive and obedient . . . James, you missed a few stops on your journey through history. Think 1991 and independence; the transfer of several billion dollars from the Kremlin to Kolomoisky; and the Israeli training and equipping of the Azov battalion. — The Ukraine Crisis: What You Need to Know – The Deep Background by James Corbett corbettreport.com February 27, 2022 https://corbettreport.substack.com/p/the-ukraine-crisis-what-you-need as I noted in my recent Questions for Corbett episode on this crisis, your understanding of history depends entirely on where you “start the clock” on the history of recent events. If you started the clock on February 24, 2022, then the matter is simple: the Russians suddenly declared war on Ukraine and began an “unprovoked and unjustified” invasion of that country. But why not start the clock on February 19, 2022 . . . Why stop there? Why not start… Read more »

Corbett (What you need to know): The final straws prompting this [Feb 2022] military assault appear to have been . . . An increase in fighting in the Donbas region between Ukrainian troops and Russia-backed separatists, leading to the latter asking Russia for military support. There would have been no “separatist war” in the Donbas had it not been for the opposing forces created by Girkin (aka Igor Strelkov) and Kolomoisky. Auto translation from Russian https://novayagazeta.ru/articles/2014/11/20/108018-strelkov-spuskovoy-kryuchok-voyny-nazhal-ya Strelkov: I pulled the trigger of war Nov 20, 2014 The former commander-in-chief of the armed formations of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic, Igor Strelkov, said that he was responsible for military operations in eastern Ukraine. He said this in an interview with the newspaper “Tomorrow”. https://zavtra.ru/blogs/kto-tyi-strelok “If our detachment had not crossed the border, in the end it would have ended, as in Kharkov, as in Odessa. What’s weird is everyone seems to say the media lie but those same people when you make what seems a wild claim ask “have you got a credible source for that?” And they mean the lying media. I’m all for just offing 90% of all people in the west. Pointless fuckers.

Does anyone at Offg watch/listen to Quantum of Conscience, Matt McKinley?

He has tremendous insight, humour & his take on what is happening in our “reality” is incredible. He’s popped out the other end of “Rabbit holes” and has framed them as someone with a deep knowledge of pretty much all of them. I’m recommending him as I believe it would be beneficial for many on this path.

Getting 95.8% agreement is something any genuine “right wing” organisation would be concerned about. Because it smells like Bolshevism! — https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2023/07/17/gop-base-ukraine The Ukraine war divides the Republican Party approximately evenly. Around 4 in 10 Republicans say we should decrease or end our financial assistance to Ukraine, but about the same number say we should continue as is, or even increase funding. But to watch two big forums featuring GOP presidential candidates on Friday and over the weekend, you’d think supporting Ukraine was an unthinkable position in the conservative movement. Turning Point USA’s founder Charlie Kirk disclosed the results of a straw poll Sunday that had been conducted among the conference’s thousands of young attendees. The most lopsided issue? Ukraine. Nearly 96 percent said they do not support “U.S. involvement,” according to Kirk. — https://www.mediaite.com/politics/whopping-ninety-six-percent-oppose-supporting-ukraine-against-russia-in-turning-points-action-straw-poll Whopping NINETY-SIX Percent Oppose Supporting Ukraine Against Russia in Turning Point Action Straw Poll By Caleb… Read more »

Candace Owens: In her own words, supposedly! The same logic is pushed by the likes of Steve Bannon. They claim that Ukraine and Ukrainians don’t exist – that they are not distinct from Russia and Russians – and therefore cannot be genocided. It’s one of the sickest positions ever invented and it’s why the will of the Ukrainians as expressed in the 1991 referendum must and will be enforced. Of course, rather than being her own thoughts, it’s far more likely that Owens is just an IIA asset (see earlier post) who switched from Left to Right as part of her assignment. In her follow up video (“Russian Propagandist”) she says nothing to defend her central claim that there is no difference between Ukraine and Russia, or Ukrainians and Russians. Moreover, despite mentioning that Kolomoisky was behind Burisma and Zelensky, she fails to mention that he received several billion dollars… Read more »

Facts against Beria? A few women who you would t believe today after metoo showed it’s true colours and some builders, yes builders, who said the bodies found at his old residence were from his era. When they weren’t. They’re from the 1800s. So best of luck with that. My Gulag article comes from the CIAs internal records. Your gulag “facts” will be by anti commie historians who pretended they’d been through the archives. Like Robert conquest (the purge author who admitted before his death that holodomor was nonsense and that Stalin didn’t go around killing people after a fellow anti commie historian called Stephen G wheatcroft held a debate with him in private leaked emails.) Or Solzhenitsyn who’s own family debunked him who claimed 66 million WHITE Christians were killed in the Gulag alone. Interesting quote:

‘Elites are always searching for ways to advertise their virtue and assert their authority. They believe they are entitled to view science as a source of authority rather than a process, and they try to appropriate science, suitably and incorrectly simplified, as the basis for their movement. Movements need goals, and these goals are generally embedded in legislation. The effect of legislation long outlasts the alleged science. As long as scientists are rewarded for doing so they are unlikely to oppose the exploitation of science.” – Richard L Lindzen, Professor Emeritus of Atmospheric Sciences, MIT’

What seems lacking — profoundly — among the perpetraitors & minions of all this, is humility, honesty, with their insufferable libertine narcissism, you won’t find a sauce for this!!

This is the whole idea with the great reset, to align the too big difference in resource consumption between US/EU and the rest of the world.

Nobody wants to give away privileges, and therefore they have to use unusual tools to get especially US down to a reasonable level.

There was no “neo-nazi Azov battalion”. Instead, there was a “psyop battalion”. It was created to give the impression of “nazis” and thereby a pseudo casus belli. Surely, James, you can handle that level of dual-citizen organised, “by deception” subterfuge? Indeed, given your proven knowledge of history, the failure to even consider that possibility would be a “stand-down” – presumably ordered. It would be the equivalent of secret service agents leaving their posts at the back of the presidential limo; or the US air defence going AWOL one sunny Tuesday morning. It’s the dog that didn’t bark! Do I need to cite my sources or should we encourage people to engage in their own heuristic searching?

As an addendum to that excellent advice , never believe anything government funded experts assert as indisputable truth . In China and Russia a similar form of truth is arrived at by other means , but Platonic truths remain difficult if not impossible to discern once infected by politics ?

Indeed.

So we must be careful to keep politicians away from our ‘Platonic truths’, just as we should keep ‘the authorities’ away from our children.

I suppose most political ideologies come in waves.
For example my childhood education, way back, was pretty strict, undoubtedly because WW2 had recently come to an end.
Military thinking pervaded the attitudes of all our teachers, as well as a fair amount of propaganda.
(Don’t get me started on the fact that military thinking still pervades the BBC – there they still pine for the days when any public event could be commentated upon in reverential hushed tones by a member of the Dimbleby family…)

Yet in spite of all that, some basics of real life were learnt, and ‘virtual reality’ was kept firmly in its rightful place – in the science-fiction books.

It never ceases to amaze me how far we are descending into complete madness. According to a recent article on the CHD website, there is now something called “chestfeeding” whereby, through the use of various chemicals, a biological man can now breastfeed a baby. https://childrenshealthdefense.org/defender/cdc-endorses-chestfeeding-biological-males/ The CDC is, of course, involved in establishing guidelines and recommendations. In answer to the question, “Can transgender parents who have had breast surgery breastfeed or chestfeed their infants?” we find this: Yes. Some transgender parents who have had breast/top surgery may wish to breastfeed, or chestfeed (a term used by some transgender and non-binary parents), their infants. Healthcare providers working with these families should be familiar with medical, emotional, and social aspects of gender transitions to provide optimal family-centered care and meet the nutritional needs of the infant. These families may need help with the following: * Maximizing milk production * Supplementing with pasteurized… Read more »

It would be very valuable to have a compilation of mainstream sources of information that show the lies for what they are. Because any non-mainstream source is simply never looked at (“fake news”, Far right” “Russia” “Trump-Qanon” etc) for example: Vaccines (can) cause cancer- source : FDA Investigating Viruses in Cells Used to Make Vaccines; and Evaluating the Potential Threat Posed by Transmission of Viruses to Humans | FDA In some cases the cell lines that are used might be tumorigenic, that is, they form tumors when injected into rodents. Some of these tumor-forming cell lines may contain cancer-causing viruses that are not actively reproducing. Such viruses are hard to detect using standard methods. These latent, or “quiet,” viruses pose a potential threat, since they might become active under vaccine manufacturing conditions. (this is for “traditional vaccines” using “attenuated virus” or whatever BS term they came up with. ) and:“Is… Read more »

It depends on whose business is the model.

Off course not. You dont have to be an City of London analyst or science professor from Yale to figure that out.
Curing patients is bad business all over.

In fact many patients who was cured returned to their old habits to get sick again, because they missed the time when someone cared for them.

The Doctor, the nurses, their families, jumping around with flowers, chocolate, medicine, daily visit from the Chief Physician and his team, everyone looking concerned about your state of business.
When you are most ill, your children, even your own mother and father have their lawyer behind them when they visit you in the hospital, concerned about the other family members will try to suck as much out of you when you are dead.

Its like usury. A little dime/illness per day will keep your life at Bay.

I talk to people who wear masks every chance I get and tell them that masks don’t work and Covid-19 is fake and I tell them to read Off Guardian and Global Research for a good source of the truth. I have learned a great deal from Corbett Report, and from links that members have provided. One such link was to Attorney Dan Sheehan’s college lectures. Watching them explains better than anything I have seen or read just exactly how the sausage gets made. And sold. In any case, I don’t always agree with Corbett, and often take umbrage at his snarkiness, but good lord, what is with the take-down. Funny thing is, no one was yelling about Corbett the gatekeeper prior to the the past year or so. The constant tear-down on alternative media has become as depressing as what happened in 2016. We are source obsessed – and we need to break ourselves of that childish habit. Citing a source is little more than “My daddy told me!” Imagine how extensively we must research a source to determine if it’s a reliable source or if it’s propaganda disguised as a source or if it’s actually little more than someone’s opinion dressed up to look resourceful or if it’s a fake. Where did this idea come from that opinions are meaningless gibberish which can only be taken seriously if backed by someone else’s opinions? It’s total absurdity. I remember a James Corbett Report about New York City effectively killing nursing home residents. It was backed by a perfectly valid looking “source”: a memo from the NYC Health Department. Turns out, those kinds of memos are sent without signature or any official’s name – in other words, there was no earthly way to verify… Read more »

I was asked for “science based” sources twenty years ago when I said I did not believe that Muslim terrorists all over the world were planning to divert my flight and kill me.

Twenty years later I was careful to give the same person a source (for my opinion that U$ Covid Labs were set up long before Wuhan) the scientist (Dr. David Martin) was dismissed as “a wellknown conspiracy theorist”.

From these two opposite tactics by the same person, I believe that a Believer will ask for a science based source if you contradict their Faith, and reject a science based source if it contradicts their Faith.

Hi Paul, – re: citing sources.

Even when, for example, certain sources are cited and their contents are demolished, half of the time it appears to matter little, as nothing much is done about it when it needs to be done, and if anything, what little is eventually done is always done too late after the horse has bolted. The Convid plandemic, virus and vaccine con now in its ‘aftermath’ is a typical example. It understandably took many people long enough to figure out the scam, and many others still haven’t figured it out yet and probably are not likely to do so because they have simply had enough regarding the whole issue. That’s unfortunate. So its just as you say:

Yes Paul, civil populations “seem to enjoy the stench” because of the constant social, ideological and politico-legal conditioning they have been bombarded with by the State and other ideological apparatuses.

Unfortunately, the “legal” apparatus or “system” and its ideology prevails over the common law and most people still cannot tell the difference between the two, and probably wouldn’t want to know either.

But, if that situation does not change then it is difficult to see how we can go forward toward any real concrete system of justice and freedom based on common law principles.

Nick, if the form of knowledge on which the experiments are based and the methodological protocols used for their reproduction do not derive from science, can the results that the so-called ‘scientists’ happen to ‘reproduce’ really be called scientific or something else? That is, given the fact that empiricism and rationalism are epistemologies – theories of knowledge, which are philosophical theories not scientific theories since they derive from philosophy nor science itself. That also applies when these epistemologies are combined. However, I do not think this deters those who are conducting experiments they just ignore the problems which arise from it. That’s partly why certain aspects of mainstream science remains in the quagmire and also pretends that subjectivity has no influence regarding their alleged ‘objectivity’. James makes a very good argument here. People should check it out.

The actions of governments and the medical establishment regarding the psuedo-pandemic are no more justified if viruses exist than if they don”t.If most people understood that viruses don’t exist, certainly that would undermine the PTB’s Narrative. However, if we are talking about what most people should understand, they wouldn’t have had a credulous response to the Covid Narrative in the first place.

I have wondered if people like Christine Massey have ever been part of social movements, working with groups of people on a political agenda. You move forward, not by getting 100% agreement on everything, but by moving forward (taking action) on those things you do agree upon while at the same time trying to bring people closer to agreement – arguing your case – on those things where you don’t.

The “viruses don’t exist” trope is very likely an intelligence operation to discredit the convid truth movement. Any average Joe can google “virus images” and, skimming past the usual CGI, can see a bunch of electron microscope images of specific structures with given names. Therefore, viruses exist and the conspiracy theorists are insane like the flat earthers, or deliberately trying to get people to die from pandemics, etc. The only intelligent counter-narrative is: “Viruses are not proven to cause disease or to do many of the things virology claim they do. “Asymptomatic hosts” and enforced/ coercive vaccination has no basis on any science or even logic. Even Dr Mike Yeadon revealed in his recent ( I think fourth in a series ) interview with James Delingpole that he is willing to seriously consider the no virus possibility, and that this ties in with his questioning of absolutely everything since the utter outrages of the Plandemic were levelled at us in an unending barrage. This is extraordinary considering his long and successful history at Pfizer and in big pharma. In my eyes, Dr Yeadon has been one of the most consistent and sensible voices, and one I remember from very early on in the Plandemic, with his stark and unequivocal warning…which was not to take these injections under any circumstances. I checked out your two sources. Both calling Corbett various levels of gatekeeper, one source links to the other regarding evidence of this, so really this is one source, plus the second source relies heavily on some ‘geneology (sic)’ by Miles Mathis who, according to the author, “does the best Geneology (sic) research on the internet”. This, I admit, had me spitting my coffee. Mathis’ version of genealogy seems to be spotting the same names (or similar names) in registers and assuming those people are not only directly related but all in cahoots. I do not defend Corbett if he in any way implies there aren’t serious problems with the official Flight 77 story… I notice your source is careful to say Corbett hasn’t made any statement to this effect. Corbett dismissed some fake missile videos and didn’t go further. That’s a shame, sure, but perhaps for various reasons he… Read more »

In the last source you referred to namely, JC-is-not -your -friend. The author of the piece wrote: In my opinion, Corbett is obfuscating and mixing in some lies with many truths. That reminds me of an earlier argument I had with another poster regarding propaganda. I argued that so-called ‘propaganda’ is not all based on lies, as it contains both information and disinformation otherwise people in general would tend not believe it (as they can either relate to the truth of it and probably in other cases, fall for the disinformation aspect as well –> association by contiguity). So, in that sense its up to people themselves to use their own power of discernment (if they have any) to separate the ‘gold from the dross’ which may also presupposes some prior or broader background knowledge and information (from other different sources) of the issue being dealt with or discussed. If… Read more »

I’m disappointed in your comment Ward. I’ve always enjoyed your comments. Maybe you should have a really hard think about why he is always promoted here. And perhaps be a little less distrusting of consensus which is after all supposedly the point of places like OG…but perhaps OG has been effective, hence your sarcastic comment.

Would you mind linking to your sources re. Corbett’s alleged fortune? He’s a very prolific guy, who’s been doing this for years, and I can totally see many people wishing to support him for providing a useful alternative view. That’s very different from what you appear to be implying, however. Unfortunately with Corbett’s larger platform comes inevitable accusations like yours, that he’s controlled. For which you’ve provided zero evidence, I might add. Note: ‘useful alternative view’ isn’t the same as having to agree with someone all the time or trust implicitly everything that comes out of their mouth. As Corbett says, always check out the sources yourselves! I personally think any sort of cursory teardown of someone based on zero evidence is a very weak position to take. It appeals to a culture of judgemental, pessimistic, adolescent oneupmanship, a conformist policing of all opinion which doesn’t surrender all hope and… Read more »

I said he’s raking it in, not sitting on a fortune. I’m not privy to who pays him and why his videos have that odd fusion studio vibe to them. It’s a hunch. My hunches have served me well this last three years. Sorry if it bums you out and you find my comment toxic. Banal paranoia is certainly a thing, but not a thing I have brought into this world, aided or abetted in any shape or form.

Nothing wrong with “raking in” an income if it is done ethically…. Just my two pennies’ worth.
