Faking “Water Bankruptcy” Part 2: Climate Change
Kit Knightly
Later this year, the UN will be hosting a major summit on the world’s water supply. The Global Water Conference 2026 is being assembled to tackle what the UN is calling “water bankruptcy”, and pursue Sustainable Development Goal 6 in pursuit of Agenda 2030.
Let’s be clear here – we’re not talking about populous arid regions out-growing their aquifer capacity, or aging infrastructure lagging behind urban sprawl. All these are ongoing issues that need to be dealt with – but this is not what the Global Water Conference is aimed at. Rather it’s a focal point for a global “re-thinking” of the water supply, aimed at reaching all of us, even in regions with regular rainfall and plentiful fresh water.
The narrative being sold is that the world wide water supply is under threat in some new and critical way, and drastic – potentially global – action is required.
Another ‘crisis’ in other words. Another Hegelian Dialectic. And we know what those mean.
In part one of this series, I discussed how the press and pet “experts” have recently been misrepresenting, exaggerating and simplifying the water usage of data centres, and the role this blatant propaganda plays in promoting the developing “water bankruptcy” narrative.
But there’s a lot more to this narrative than just AI or data centres. The ‘threat’ to our global water supply is already multi-layered.
And one of those layers is, inevitably, climate change.
I have no intention of re-litigating so-called anthropogenic global warming (AGW) here. There are acres of pages on this subject. Suffice to say, AGW is a tentpole issue of the globalist world take-over. A creation of corrupt science and relentless propaganda that is used to excuse any-and-all tyrannical overreach a government can come up with.
That climate change will lead to a supposed “water crisis” is not a new talking point; it goes back years – even decades – and is inextricably linked with the myriad of predicted disasters from acid rain to the hole in the Ozone layer to the disappearing ice caps.
Media stories of droughts are endemic of course – some of them entirely genuine, others cherry-picked and exaggerated or manipulated to invoke AGW – but significantly the recurring theme in the most recent water panic stories is NOT that climate change will reduce the amount of water per se, but rather that it will make our existing water more dangerous to drink.
Dangerous Waters
As far as I can determine this narrative began emerging in late 2019 and early 2020, with articles like this one:
Will climate change increase the presence of pathogens in drinking water?
Over the course of the next few years they dropped the question mark and got a little more assertive:
Climate change can worsen your drinking water quality
These days, stories and papers on this issue just keep on coming.
In February, the US Environmental Protection Agency published a report titled “Climate Change and Freshwater Harmful Algal Blooms”, which warns:
Scientists continue to document many effects of climate change on freshwaters, estuaries, and marine environments, and those effects are predicted to be exacerbated in the future.
Last Spring, the Yale School of the Environment published this paper:
How Climate Change Puts the Safety of Drinking Water at Risk
Which warns of climate change-related flooding and fires contaminating drinking water.
Last July, the UN reported that melting glaciers could release prehistoric microbes into drinking water:
Climate scientists are saying many glaciers will not survive this century unless action is taking to slow the melting rate caused by climate change. That means those living downstream will face a tide of floods alongside threats posed by reactivated microbes in a warming cryosphere or frozen parts of the Earth.
Frozen in ice sheets, glaciers and permafrost are bacteria, fungi and viruses. While most are dead, some are dormant and some are active. As global temperatures hit record highs, these microorganisms will become more active in many ecosystems. Even if the melting can be slowed down by mitigating greenhouse gas emissions, efforts must assess and prepare for possible threats from potential pathogens.
In January, Science Daily reported “urgent warnings” from Chinese scientists concerning the spread of amoebas in drinking water due, of course, to climate change:
microscopic organisms are gaining ground worldwide, driven by climate change, deteriorating water systems, and limited monitoring and detection efforts.
Just a couple of days ago, a new paper was reviewed by Phys.org, in an article titled:
Climate change reshapes waterborne disease risks as pathogens respond differently
In May, an article in the New Yorker headlined “Our Warming Planet Is a Petri Dish for New and Deadly Microbes”, warns that water may become increasingly unsafe as the planet warms, due to breeding microorganisms:
“Flesh-eating” bacteria is spreading. Infectious fungi are emerging. Microbiomes may never be the same. Are we ready?
Drinking water isn’t even the main thrust of the piece, but it’s in there. Setting the scene, quietly establishing the baseline.
And the messaging is continuous.
“There will come a time, in the near future, when climate change has rendered previously safe water dangerous.”
They extend this ‘safe water becoming dangerous’ meme beyond climate change as well.
New research tells us that a significant number of Americans have unsafe levels of nitrates in their water supply, or that “rainwater everywhere on earth is no longer safe” due to “forever chemicals”.
You might argue the these are true statements to a point. Certainly levels of nitrates in drinking water have been of concern for several decades, since the rise of intensive farming. But since when did the controlled media give a solitary damn about that? And why – now – are they suddenly realising it matters?
The coverage itself is an indication of narrative direction. They are discovering their concern about nitrates – because it is now convenient to do so.
The common thread here is that – either through microbes, or contaminants – previously safe water may become somehow un-safe. That most over-used, emotive and politicized of words.
The role of “Safety”
“Safe” is a mighty word in the tyrannical control industry. Its definition is ever re-shaping, crowding on us or retreating over the horizon.
What is “safe”?
“Safe” in the modern sense used by media is a word defined from the top down, by regulatory bodies and international panels, and thus it affords them total narrative control. Its beauty and appeal to propagandists is its considered entirely essential by most people but is also entirely subjective, and therefore very useful when manipulating “reality.”
This is true when applied to almost anything – disease, pollution, red meat…or drinking water.
Everyone wants to be safe. And a lot of people will endure almost anything if the alternative is having their safety compromised.
The “pandemic” showed us that scientific screening or testing can be used to control the speed and direction of a narrative. It utilized fake tests, administered according to official protocols, to not only create the pandemic in the first place, but then control the ebb and flow of “cases” and “deaths”, and the amount of “safety” people were permitted to experience.
The more they “tested” the more danger they revealed. The more danger they revealed, the more public fear permitted them to legislate for the “threat”.
I think the same model is being eased into place over the “water crisis”. I think it’s no coincidence that several of the papers I link to above declare the need for “increased surveillance” (testing) of the water supply.
“Water screening” or “microbe surveillance” for amoebas or nitrates or whatever the scare chemical of the day is, can work the same way the PCR tests did, to create a ‘problem’ in need of solving.
Lay the groundwork in the media with some propaganda to get people used to the idea things are changing and water might not be so safe any more. Then, when you’re prepared, start sending the EPA or DEFRA out to do some random fieldwork.
And with no more effort than that, we are only a few “tests” or a simple adjustment of “recommended levels” away from suddenly having “dangerous” drinking water, that requires certain reservoirs (as many as you like) to be removed from circulation – until the water can be treated or “safe levels of X can be attained” (which will be any time you choose from now until perpetuity)
And thus real water scarcity can be engineered out of nothing, higher bills explained as unavoidable, rationing just part of the good old new normal.
*
And so we have two pieces of the puzzle in place.
On the one hand, the media are pushing simplistic and distorted information about the technology sector’s use of water. This misinformation is used to instil fear of potential shortages.
On the other, climate alarmists are warning us that what little water we do have is becoming increasingly dangerous for us to drink. This could, in turn, be used to engineer local ‘crises’ on demand, following the ‘covid’ model.
We have the building blocks of a major global “problem” being put in place, but what’s the endgame?
To know that we need to look at the potential ‘solutions’ that will be proffered.
We’ll discuss those in part three.
