Our house rules are minimal, but we do expect them to be honoured. They are:
- BE POLITE. We understand debates get heated and we accept a certain degree of colourful language can creep in, but empty ad hom or extreme personal abuse is strongly discouraged and may be removed when it is particularly gratuitous.
- CITE SOURCES. If you are alleging facts back them up with data.
- TRY VERY HARD NOT TO TROLL. We understand some of you are paid to do that, or genuinely can find no better way to contribute, so we try to let a certain amount slide. If you become excessively disruptive or boring though, we may feel forced to remove your worst and most egregious trolleries.
- NO INCITEMENT OR THREATS. We do not tolerate direct threats of violence toward groups or individuals. If you critique or denigrate en masse any ethnic or religious or national group, your comment may be removed if we consider it’s an incitement to hate or violence.
We have never banned anyone from this site, and rarely see any need to enforce our few rules. So unless you are grotesquely racist, abusive or spammy, you will be able to post any shade of opinion you like here.
Please note however that we do have an automated system that holds back any comment containing more than three hyperlinks. This is intended to help filter out spam. If your comment contains four or more hyperlinks it will be held back until we clear it, but it will be published eventually.
If you have any problems or enquiries email us at [email protected] Thanks for reading and enjoy the site.
