What he says will come as nothing new to regulars here, but it would be a good introduction for people who are just starting to have doubts. The above-quoted comment is inherently contradictory. At the heart of the spirit of scientific inquiry lies the ability to challenge and question anything based on experiment and evidence. Anything that says, “This is the science and you may not question it” is, by definition, not science.

Sad but true. The start of the operation pulled the wool over the eyes. I hoped it could be lifted, but many people have invested so much emotion into this charade they find it impossible to consider that the drama they have played a part in is just a play. Some will come round. The problem is, the only way to overturn this is for another drama to overlay the old one. Since you raise the noisome subject: I must admit that during most of my blissfully infrequent visits to public toilets (at least in the Southeastern Pennsylvania area) I heartily wished that I was wearing a mask– a good, old-fashioned gas mask.
