I wanted to share this amusing but cautionary video this Sunday night. Without giving too much away, this video explores something we have discussed before – the danger AI poses, not to jobs or humanity – but to our perception of reality.
And, yes, this is the kind of thing that would usually go in This Week, but we did This Christmas before I found it, and it’s from August anyway, so…

That was insightful (nearly wrote inciteful) if humans are mere machines , then there’s no problem with AI. But we’re not. Not yet anyway. I’m not going to trust my own eyes without double checking everything from now on.

Let’s face it, one only needs three chords to write a song. I’ve done it many, many times.
Story goes Dolly Parton has written over 6000 songs, and that’s not uncommon!
Al is just a sad and selfish snapshot of our times.
Now that is an amazing scam. They must be raking in huge amounts.
The customer actually gets the product, in this case the personalized song for US$100 within a few days of placing the order. They are happy and without any further research won’t even know that they have been scammed into buying an AI generated song by a bunch of scammers in the Philippines pretending to be a family band called ‘The Walkers’ from the good ol’ USA – who actually do not exist.
As the narrator of the video said ” It won’t be AI taking your job, it’s the person that understands AI who will be taking your job”
Time to sharpen up those bullshit detectors with AI in mind and remember if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
