The Ongoing Restructuring of the Greater Middle East

CJ Hopkins

Map showing the 40 military bases the US has been compelled to position around Iran to combat Iranian aggression.

So, according to the corporate media, and to President Literally Hitler, himself, while America was sleeping last Friday morning, the U.S. Air Force was just minutes away from bombing the bejesus out of some desolate outposts somewhere in the Iranian desert and launching another catastrophic military blunder in the Middle East.

At approximately 0400 Zulu time, President Hitler and his top advisors (among them, John “the Walrus of Death” Bolton) were gathered in the Pentagon’s War Room, flight paths arcing across the big board. The hotline to Vladimir Putin’s office in St. Basil’s Cathedral in Moscow had been activated. The full force of the U.S. military was about to be brought to bear upon a package of top-level Iranian targets with no strategic value whatsoever.

Apparently, planes were in the air!” It was all so terribly, terribly exciting.

This awesome demonstration of American resolve was meant to be punishment for the vicious slaughter of an expensive U.S. military drone, which was peacefully invading Iranian airspace, and not at all attempting to provoke the Iranians into blowing it out of the sky with a missile so the U.S. military could “retaliate.”

The military-industrial complex would never dream of doing anything like that, not even to further the destabilization and restructuring of the Greater Middle East that they’ve been systematically carrying out the since the collapse of the former Soviet Union, which … more on that in just a moment.

Nor did the incursion into Iranian airspace of this non-provacative military drone have anything whatsoever to do with the crippling economic sanctions the U.S.A. has imposed on Iran in order to completely destroy its economy and foment a coup against its leaders, who are allegedly conspiring with Hezbollah and al Qaeda to develop an arsenal of nuclear weapons to launch at Israel and Saudi Arabia, and other peaceful Middle Eastern democracies, and who were possibly responsible for the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, and, who knows, maybe even the Holocaust!

Iran, remember, is a “terrorist nation,” which is not playing ball with the “international community,” which is why NATO has it completely surrounded and is flying hundred million dollar military drones up and down its coastline.

Also, they don’t like homosexuals (i.e., the Iranians, not NATO, of course), and they burn big American flags on television, and are generally Hitlerian in every other way. On top of which, they’re allies of Russia, the fount of all democracy-hating, fascist evil in the world today.

Which, I don’t know, makes it kind of weird that President Hitler would want to attack them, and destroy their economy with those crippling sanctions.

I mean, why would Putin allow him to do that? What was the point of brainwashing all those African Americans with those Facebook ads if his Manchurian President Hitler Puppet was just going to let The Walrus of Death and his deep state cronies bomb his allies?

Iran callously displaying the butchered remains of the inoccent $220million surveillance drone they ruthlessly murdered.

Honestly, the more I watch of this movie, the less the plot makes sense to me … but, hey, I’m just a political satirist, and not a professional Putin-Naziologist, or a geopolitical analyst, or whatever.

If I were (i.e., a geopolitical analyst), I guess I might want to take a step back and try to frame last week’s events within a broader historical context, rather than getting all worked up by the manufactured mass hysteria of the moment. If I did that, things might look a bit clearer, albeit somewhat less terribly exciting.

For example, that destabilization and restructuring of the Greater Middle East I just mentioned above, which has been in progress since the early 1990s, regardless of who was sleeping in the White House.

The Gulf War, the Iraq War, the “Arab Spring,” Egypt, Libya, Syria, et cetera … if I were a geopolitical analyst, I might be able to discern a pattern there, and possibly even some sort of strategy.

If I were a particularly cynical analyst, it might look to me like global capitalism, starting right around 1990, freed by the collapse of the U.S.S.R. to do whatever the hell it wanted, more or less immediately started dismantling uncooperative power structures throughout the Greater Middle East.

My cynical theory would kind of make sense of the “catastrophic policy blunders” that the United States has supposedly made in Iraq, Libya, and throughout the region, not to mention the whole “Global War on Terror,” and what it is currently doing to Syria, and Iran.

Take a good look at this Smithsonian map of where the U.S.A. is “combating terrorism.”

Note how the U.S. military (i.e., global capitalism’s unofficial “enforcer”) has catastrophically blundered its way into more or less every nation depicted.

Or ask our “allies” in Saudi Arabia, Israel, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, and so on. OK, you might have to reach them in New York or London, or in the South of France this time of year, but, go ahead, ask them about the horrors they’ve been suffering on account of our “catastrophic blunders.”

See, according to this crackpot conspiracy theory that I would put forth if I were a geopolitical analyst instead of just a political satirist, there have been no “catastrophic policy blunders,” not for global capitalism.

The Restructuring of the Greater Middle East is proceeding exactly according to plan. The regional ruling classes are playing ball, and those who wouldn’t have been regime-changed, or are being regime-changed, or are scheduled for regime change.

Sure, for the actual people of the region, and for regular Americans, the last thirty years of wars, “strategic” bombings, sanctions, fomented coups, and other such shenanigans have been a pointless waste of lives and money … but global capitalism doesn’t care about people or the “sovereign nations” they believe they live in, except to the extent they are useful.

Global capitalism has no nations. All it has are market territories, which are either open for business or not.

Take a look at that map again. What you’re looking at is global capitalism cleaning up after winning the Cold War. And yes, I do mean global capitalism, not the United States of America (i.e., the “nation” most Americans think they live in, despite all evidence to the contrary).

I know it hurts to accept the fact that “America” is nothing but a simulation projected onto an enormous marketplace … but seriously, do you honestly believe that the U.S. government and its military serve the interests of the American people?

If so, go ahead, review the history of their activities since the Second World War, and explain to me how they have benefited Americans … not the corporatist ruling classes, regular working-class Americans, many of whom can’t afford to see a doctor, or buy a house, or educate their kids, not without assuming a lifetime of debt to some global financial institution.

OK, so I digressed a little. The point is, “America” is not at war with Iran. Global capitalism is at war with Iran. The supranational corporatist empire. Yes, it wears an American face, and waves a big American flag, but it is no more “American” than the corporations it comprises, or the governments those corporations own, or the military forces those governments control, or the transnational banks that keep the whole show running.

This is what Iran and Syria are up against. This is what Russia is up against. Global capitalism doesn’t want to nuke them, or occupy them. It wants to privatize them, like it is privatizing the rest of the world, like it has already privatized America … according to my crackpot theory, of course.

But, again, I’m just a political satirist, not a geopolitical analyst. What the hell do I know about anything? Probably, if we just impeach Donald Trump, or The Walrus of Death, or elect Joe Biden, or Bernie Sanders, or some other individual, we can put an end to all these catastrophic blunders that America keeps making in the Middle East.

So forget about my crackpot conspiracy theories, and let’s get back to whatever terribly exciting crisis is unfolding today. Seriously, my brain kind of hurts. I can’t wait to switch on the Internet and find out who’s threatening America at the moment … Russians, Iranians, Venezuelans, anti-Semites, Mexican migrants, Nazis? The possibilities are endless.

Ready? OK, here we go.

Trump is (as yet) the only president since Jimmy Carter to not engage in actual warfare during his presidency. Clinton would have been in there by now – the corrupt warmonger – on some cooked-up evidence. Odd that Obama was not questioned for dropping more bombs that any other president in history… AND the guy even gets a Nobel peace prize. And Bush, well… just look at the lies we swallowed without blinking.

What if..another conspiracy theory based on the current state of the world and tying in nicely with the topic of CC The current situation of depletion of resources, the threat of global warming and the inability of the planetary resources to bear the demands of an ever increasing population, the unabating increase in wealth of a small group of already immensely wealthy people – all well known and factual – lead to the conclusions by a small group of oligarchs worldwide: Be it resolved The planet with the current load of population and their demands is under threat, the prsent model and mode of production, creating wealth and wealth distribution does neither work nor is it sustainable. Yea we should remember Condoleezza Rice, the token, saying that “is growing the birth pangs” and unleashing forces of constructive chaos which at the same will generate the conditions of violence and warfare in the region, to pave the way for USA, Israel, Britain, France could redraw again a new map for the Middle East to the image and interest of USA- Israel, Britain, and France.

How mang blogs, articles are going to be written, commented on, which means doing nothing? When is something, the only thing that can make a positive difference going to be done? Bitching, moaning, continally stating the known, voting, marching, protesting– about or living in a country that has a 100% Corrupt, Inverted-Totalitarian, Police-State Government that is controlled by a handful of Jew Lawyers and Industrialists, and Super-Wealthy families, etc, for their benefit alone, and to the detriment and death of everyone else on the planet, going to be totally eradicated by guerilla armies composed of at least 3-5% of the determined few? When confronted with this level of tyranny, only violent eradication is the only recourse that can be sought and sustained.

The ridicule-point-of-no-return was reached for me when, after the 2008 banking abomination, Iceland was declared by the UK to be a “terrorist” state (using a new contortion of an archaic law) so that the unsuspecting general population of of the country would have to bear the devastating brunt of the criminal deeds of some self-styled takeover bandits in the financial markets the people used to trust.

Believe me, if Iceland is a terrorist nation, then there is no other nation which isn’t.

If he is in Berlin, which I know well because I grew up there, he should know about the Ramma (sometimes Remma) Clan. These are now in the dock and thanks to a new law, some of their ill gotten assets can now be confiscated.

They are people originally from what is now Turkey, fled to what is now Libanon when the Ottoman Empire was dissolved 100 years ago. But the Americans itched about making war on Libanon, so the Rammas enjoyed asylum in Berlin. Now the Clan is 500 people. They have 77 properties in Berlin (which would normally be apartment buildings).

Thank you America for making war on Libanon – Berlin would not have the Samma Clan without you.

Good effort to avoid naming the only possible next top dog, China. If you call Trump Hitler, how will you call Xi then? His China won’t be a bull dog or Pekingese but more of a robotic AI Rottweiler.

China is already the world’s second economy and will only climb up. Their state capitalism beat all Western varieties of capitalism till now. They don’t depend on the dollar currency and manipulate virtual money swifter than the Fed.

America is more and more like an obnoxious drunk in a bar trying to pick a fight with everyone he sees. If Bolton, Trump and Pompeo get their war with Iran, it will probably be a re run, on a vastly greater scale, of the 2006 war in Lebanon. It would immediately spread to all the neighbouring countries, with US bases being attacked all around Iran. If the US wanted to re open the Straits of Hormuz, it would have to physically invade and occupy a long stretch of rugged and rocky Iranian coastline to the north of the straits before it could even begin clearing mines. This is full of cliffs and caves and sites for mobile anti ship missiles. Ships passing through the area are like ducks in a shooting gallery. So they couldn’t just bomb the country for weeks like they did in Serbia. They would have… Read more »

Thanks again CJ for your biting satire. And that’s what it’s all about at the end of the day; full spectrum dominance so every country with anything worth looting is opened up and plundered by the vampires. Most interesting how NATO wasn’t disbanded after the collapse of the Soviet Union, aye. In fact most countries of the former Eastern Bloc have also become NATO members. Defending freedom and democracy are they? You’re spot on that the United States and its lackeys are the military enforcers for the brutal regime of Neoliberalism. Sort of like an inverted socialism for the rich. Any country that maintains its independence and sovereignty is targeted. Which is what has been happening with Venezuela and Iran, who just happen to have lots of oil by the way. The rampant greed of these parasites. All for us.

While I agree with the idea that ‘global capitalism’ is at war with Iran (and Russia, China and anyone else who doesn’t toe their line) I do think that referring to President Trump as ‘Hitler’ is neither useful nor amusing. Trump does have one thing in common with Hitler in that he bluffs when he holds a losing hand but today’s World isn’t the same as 1930s Europe so the strategy probably won’t work that well. I think Trump recognizes his weakness as well as realizing — belatedly — that he’s allowed some very dangerous people to get into key positions in his Administration. Our only hope in the short term is that ‘global capitalism’ runs the numbers and figures that while brinkmanship may be good for business actually starting wars probably isn’t. Global capital has been an issue for well over a hundred years and dealing with it has… Read more »

The thing about Global Capitalism is that it has no single leader we can all go and harangue, someone who can be voted out of office.

Global Capitalism has no leader, it has a constituency and, like the Masons, its power players remain quiet, behind the scenes, not open to challenge by outsiders.

It chooses its figureheads secretly, backs them obliquely and they get paid to take the blame in due course.

It is supremely anti-democratic, it has contempt for the values of the majority and values subservience, obedience and discretion above all else. Whistleblowing is the ultimate treason…..

So fighting GC is a bit of challenge as it never stands for election, never opens decision-making to the citizenry and never admits error nor apologises.

But if the juggernaut is to be stopped in its tracks, it has to be challenged.

Leadership is finding a way to do that.

Remember, we are dealing here with psychotics who have no conscience at all, and who have only selective memories, along with outright denial where appropriate.
Like many dangerously deranged people, they do not see what happens to other people in the same light as if it happened to themselves.
That’s why they have become “elite”.

Be careful, guys. I am old enough to have had wartime parents with close Jewish-German friends (whom I also knew when I was young) who saw their own parents taken away, never to be seen again. I remember my mother saying that her best friend among that group lost her formerly deep faith in God, and simply could not bear to discuss religion from then onwards. I am a strong supporter of OffG, but my non-Jewish parents and their Jewish friends were certainly not liars, (who would lie about their parents’ death?) and their stories are still within my living memory. Just a little tact here is all I’m asking. Whether six million, or only sixty individuals, murder is murder, even though the persecution was not called “holocaust” at the time. As for the point about “A lot of people doubt the “holocaust” actually happened. But if it had, isn’t… Read more »

And really feel that the lies and exaggerations should finally be exposed and laid to rest. Trillions have been paid in compensation for something that did not happen as the Holocaust Industry would have us believe, and it is this that is propagating hatred and mistrust throughout our world. We need to have discussions far and wide, and teach the truth in schools instead of the myth. I also had wartime parents. My father was involved in ‘rescuing’ inmates from a camp. I also had close friends who were Jews who escaped..(only one still alive, her Husband died four years ago).. and guess what, neither they nor their families have EVER been subjected to… Read more »

Thank you Maggie. There is certainly a lot to peruse there, and I will. As for the example of my own family, concerning the parents of my own parents’ German-Jewish friends, I can only say that they were seen by their teenage children to be taken away, without explanation, never to be seen again. There was no explanation given that they had typhus and would therefore have to be isolated for everyone’s good, and the children in this case would also have known if their parents and their many other acquaintances who were taken away at the same time were sick. Nor were they starving. They would have remembered their parents being sick, or starving, just as I remember my own parents’ condition before they died of natural causes in the UK. These people were taken away because they were Jewish, and their children were among those who were able… Read more »

In virtually every area of the globe, human beings have been inflicting unspeakable pain and sorrow on one another. We need look no further than what the British Empire did to their ”subjects,’ And the Boers. I agree with you, and we have to be mindful of the survivors of such ‘holocausts’ and common decency has to be preserved when talking about terrible tragedies like this. The Arolsen Archives are the world’s most comprehensive archive on National Socialist persecution. The documents were collected to help clarify the fates of the victims of persecution. They contain information on victims of the Holocaust and concentration camp prisoners, on foreign forced laborers and on the survivors who were trying to rebuild their lives as displaced persons.

Today, over 30 million original documents are listed on the UNESCO‘s Memory of the World documentary heritage register. They are an important source of knowledge while at the same time serving as a warning for society today.

Rothschilds. This Banking family is Jewish (Their real name was Meyer)

Wrong Mayer Amsel Rothschild established the banking business, he was born in Frankfurt a.M., my hometown.
They carried the name since the first Roth Schild in 1577.

But more importantly, how come the Germans developed well-designed ‘gas chambers’ with showers, heating and circulation in an attempt to save millions of people from typhus,

Seriously Peter M or are you being ironic? ”A drawing of the building for Auschwitz’s ”main gate” was also found in the documents that Bild said were ”believed” to have been discovered when a Berlin flat was cleaned out. The same phenomena as the Anne Frank Diaries that suddenly appeared in 1946? Now were they found in Holland, or did Otto have them with him all the time? For his daughter would have been housed in a completely different place to him and I doubt the Germans guarding her would have been magnanimous enough to give them to Otto.? Most news tending to cast doubt on Jewish stories about gas chambers and the like from the World War II era has either been blacked out altogether, or downplayed and given very unsympathetic treatment. The daily printed three architect’s drawings on yellowing paper from the batch of 28 pages of blueprints it obtained. One has an 11.66 meter by 11.20 meter room marked “Gaskammer” that was part of a “delousing facility.”

No one from the federal government’s archives was immediately available for comment on the authenticity or importance of the documents.

The plans, ”published ahead of the 70th anniversary” of the “Kristallnacht” or the Nazi pogrom that was a harbinger of the Holocaust, also include a crematorium and a “L. Keller” — an abbreviation for “Leichenkeller” or ”Morgue.”

A drawing of the building for Auschwitz’s main gate was also found in the documents that Bild said were believed to have been discovered when a Berlin flat was cleaned out.

I very much doubt it, M. I don’t say that to be contrary, just going off Russia’s record, which isn’t very good, to put it (extremely) charitably. Russia has always facilitated and enabled US aggression and economic strangulation of friendly countries, whether it’s Yugoslavia, Iraq, Libya or Iran. It always stabs its friends in the back. Consider the record. Iraq supported US sanctions against Iraq, Half a million children under 5 died as a result. Russia enabled the destruction of Libya. It is currently supporting US economic strangulation of N. Korea. People have died and are dying as a result, and their US chums are gloating. Or consider the record with regard to Iran. Russia supported the economic strangulation of Iran on bogus WMD accusations. Russia accepted these were lies, but did so anyway. Children died as a result. They did so in return for worthless US promises, never kept,… Read more »

Well, it might not be that simple, but I think we get the gist.

” We found that, contrary to what most Americans believe, the war on terror is not winding down—it has spread to more than 40 percent of the world’s countries. The war isn’t being waged by the military alone, which has spent $1.9 trillion fighting terrorism since 2001. The State Department has spent $127 billion in the last 17 years to train police, military and border patrol agents in many countries and to develop antiterrorism education programs, among other activities.” Read more: https://www.smithsonianmag.com/history/map-shows-places-world-where-us-military- So CJ, as you clearly see clearly, they are still well ahead of budget, given the multiple missing $Trillions$ of D.o.D. budgeted & funded cashflow, which Rumsfeld was referring to on the day before WTC7, in 2001 . . . Somewhere offshore you’ll find a lil’ something left over, for a Grand Ole’ Party Fireworks Finale of Phoney Terror & Angst 😉 against … Devils within 🙂 Boom… Read more »

” spent $127 billion in the last 17 years to train police”
How much of that went straight to Israel for the training. And now they have militarized police forces across the US acting just like the IDF does towards Palestinians, directly on US citizens .The brutality stretches the boundaries of what is proper human conduct to say the least.Big reason why I don’t visit the US nor do I care to.And to think that many still believe in the American dream, like George Carlin once said “but you have to be asleep to believe it”.

The current figure is approaching $5 trillion, not 1.9.

The War On Terror is also a massive cash cow for the security industry , the tech element of it, the power it brings and penetration of a nation’s security by being a fundamental part of it like doing the training for it and providing staff and equipment and being the specialists etc. Israel being provably the main offender in the 9/11 saga and the main beneficiary of 9/11, it is very telling when you take a step back and look at how the Israeli dominated security industry has spread its tentacles since 9/11, which just so happened to create a free pass for the security industry to do whatever it wants no questions asked, everything can and still is justified in the name of counter terrorism. When I look at the UK now, a place which I would describe as a utopia for the security industry, I wonder how… Read more »

Surely it is Israel that has benefited from all these Middle East conflicts. As former French Foreign Minister Roland Dumas states in this French TV debate that when meeting with an Israeli PM he was told that if the leaders of countries in the region did not agree with Israel then they had to be brought down.

See these flags in Afghanistan. This is what Putin said last week about that benighted land. “Over the period of Russia’s Presidency, the SCO will certainly face a great deal of work to settle crises and peacefully resolve conflicts seated near the external borders of our states. The developments in Afghanistan require special attention; my colleagues have already spoken about this here. The Afghan people need help in achieving national reconciliation and economic recovery.” We fully support the plan to expand the organisation’s security, economic and humanitarian cooperation with Afghanistan, as reflected in the relevant roadmap to be signed today. We aim to contribute in every way to the revival of the SCO-Afghanistan Contact Group’s activity. http://en.kremlin.ru/events/president/transcripts/60750 It is about as clear a declaration to the anglo-imperialists to start taking their tanks off the SCO and it”s associates lawns. Everyone getting it yet? Vlad makes it even clearer for these… Read more »
